Los Springboks en hostórica goleada a los Pumas de 46-13 (24-13) se coronaron campeones del VIII Rugby  Championship 2019 en la tercera y última fecha disputada en el Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena de la Ciudad de Salta con  21.190 espectadores,  rompiendo un ayuno de diez años. En 2º lugar se clasificó Australia que goleó a los All Blacks por 47-26, relegándolos en 3º escalón  en Perth. Los Pumas fueron superados en los scrums y en los lines y cometiendo 11 penales particularmente en el scrum, y no supieron equilibrar el abordaje  cuando tuvieron la ventaja  por 10´ de un hombre más, por la tarjeta amarilla al medio scrum Faf De Klerk. La figura del partido fue el apertura sudafricano Handré Pollard, autor de 31 puntos, producto de 2 tries, 5 penales y 3 conversiones. En una de las peores  performances  de sus trayectorias,  Los Pumas se despidieron de Salta y Argentina, ya que ahora prepararán en el exterior su intervención en la  IX Copa Mundial de Japón 2019 , a partir del amistoso que tendrá lugar el próximo sábado en el estadio Loftus Versfeld de Pretoria (noroeste de Sudáfrica), frente a los flamantes campeones del Rugby Championship 2019.

No hubo táctica ni estrategia para cambiar de registro para  Argentina que se vió superada con tanta facilidad por  Sudáfrica que marcó  5 tries con el hooker Bongi Mbonambi, el doblete del apertura Handré Pollard, del wing Makazole Mapimpi y del wing Cheslin Kolbe. Y marcó solo en el primer tiempo 13 puntos con try de Cordero, más  2 penales y 1 conversión del apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez. Los Springboks salieron  determinados,  a marcar bien arriba a unos Pumas desorientados, donde debutó el porteño Benjamín Urdapilleta, sin trascendencia. Pero todo el plantel entrenado por el porteño Mario Ledesma denunció falta de organización y de disciplina,  para corregir errores frente a rival con tanta intensidad de juego los 80´ del partido. Está claro que Los Pumas venían de mediocre performance hace dos semanas en Brisbane cuando los Wallabies le ganaron por 16-10,  y en  Salta siguió la pesadilla,  por lo que resta ver qué novedades se producen en  Pretoria el sábado, y en lo que falta de preparación, para enfrentar a Francia el 21 de setiembre en Tokio, en el debut mundialista, que proseguirá con Tonga, Inglaterra y Estados Unidos. Después de tres jornadas de campeonato, Sudáfrica fue 1º con 12 puntos, 2º Australia con 8, 3º Nueva Zelanda con 6 y 4º Argentina con 2 unidades. En el ranking mundial hasta el 4 de agosto, Nueva Zelanda está 1º  con 91.34, Sudáfrica 4º  con 86.30, Australia 6º con 81.91  y Argentina 10º con 76.81. El próximo lunes se actualizará el ránking, por lo que si Gales gana mañana a Inglaterra en Twickenham quedará 1º por delante de Nueva Zelanda que cayó ante Australia.

In 2nd place was Australia that beat All Blacks 47-26, relegating them in 3rd step at Perth. The Pumas were overcome in the scrums and in the lines and committing 11 penalties particularly in the scrum, and failed to balance the approach when they had the advantage by 10' of one more man, by the yellow card to the scrum half Faf De Klerk.
