Ante Wallabies que vienen de ganar a los All Blacks 24-22, y que buscan un super scrum, los Pumas replican con el medio scrum mendocino Gonzalo Bertranou para conducir el scrum, tras ganar a los All Blacks 25-15, en cuarta fecha del Tri Nation, en el McDonald Jones de Newcastle.

En éste amanecer (05:45 en Argentina), los Pumas enfrentan a los Wallabies con un único cambio dispuesto por el  entrenador porteño Mario Ledesma y el entrenador australiano Michael Cheika, la de Gonzalo Bertranou en la base por el porteño Tomás Cubelli, lesionado.

Respecto al momento de los Pumas, Ledesma sentenció: "Creo que es un equipo muy equilibrado. Ya han pasado un par de años en los que han tenido una mejoría en los lineout, el  maul, el scrum  y obviamente la defensa, ante las amenazas ofensivas’’.

Mientras tanto, el entrenador neozelandés Dave Rennie apunta  al pilar izquierdo  Taniela Tupou ‘’para domar’’ a Los Pumas, en uno de los tres cambios en los Wallabies que enfrentarán al pack argentino en la cuarta fecha del Tri Nations, en Newcastle, Nueva Gales del Sur.

El pilar derecho Scott Sio se unirá a Tupou en la primera línea de los Wallabies que vienen de que derrotar a los All Blacks hace dos semanas por lo que Dave Rennie , resaltó: "Obtuvimos la reacción que esperábamos y la preparación en esta semana ha sido excelente’’.

Renni confía en los tres cuartos  y apuesta al apertura Reece Hodge que tiene la oportunidad de ser el Nº 10, al lado de los centros Hunter Paisami y Jordan Petaia .

Los tres de atrás tienen mucha velocidad, con Tom Wright y Marika Koroibete en las puntas y Tom Banks elegido nuevamente con la camiseta número 15. Es la cuarta vez en 2020 que Banks ha sido elegido, tras actuaciones constantes como full back de los Brumbies.

Hace sólo dos años que los Pumas  sorprendieron a los Wallabies en Gold Coast, ganando por primera vez, 23-19 luego de 35 años, y en la cuarta fecha del Rugby Championship 2018, con tries del apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez y del wing porteño  Bautista Delguy.

Rennie ha llamado a Tupou, quien realizó su actuación más completa contra los All Blacks en la victoria por 24-22 en el Suncorp de Brisbane y ha desarrollado el scrum en 2020, Tupou tiene la habilidad única de llevar a los Wallabies sobre la línea de ganancia.

Para complementar la dinámica de Tupou, Rennie propone al flanker Ned Hanigan como número 6 ya dos veces en 2020. El juego de pies ha mejorado en Hanigan y su excelencia en los lines defensivos,
