Con goleada de 52-10 (21-10) de los Jaguares donde destacaron los cordobeses Santiago Carreras y  Juan Cruz Mallía, y el tucumano Domingo Miotti, a los Sunwolves japoneses, en la última ronda clasificatoria a los playoffs de cuartos de final del IV Super Rugby 2019, la selección provincial argentina se consolidó segundo en la tabla general y por lo tanto será local en cuartos y en semifinales. Incluso también sería  local en la final si no lo hace el campeón siente Canterbury Crusaders. Sunwolves de Tokio,  último en la tabla y pronto a dejar el Super Rugby al final de 2020 por problemas financieros,  cometió errores de destreza, de maniobra en el juego y en la defensa, por lo que fue vulnerable a los ataques de los Jaguares, que marcaron 8 tries a partir de los 11', con el ensayo  de Santiago Carreras (4º try en 6 partidos) en lo que fue la quinta victoria consecutiva. A partir de allí el partido cayó en un desorden absoluto y Sunwolves se quedó con 14 por la lesión del hooker suplente Jaba Bregvadze y al no tener más primeras líneas, el equipo nipón tuvo que quedarse con uno menos y no se disputó más el scrum. Jugó con 13 por amonestación al full back Semisi Masirewa (40’), tras un try penal decretado por el árbitro argentino Federico Anselmi.
