Los Pumitas M20 deben redimirse ante Fidji M20, para apuntar al todo o nada contra Francia M20- The Pumitas U20 must be redeemed against Fiji U20, to aim at all or nothing against France U20

En trascendental segunda fecha de mañana por el grupo A en la XII Copa del Mundo M20, Los Pumitas deben redimirse frente a Fidji en partido que se disputará a partir de las 13:00 en el Ateneo de la Inmaculada de La Ciudad de Santa Fe,  para enfrentar el miércoles próximo a Francia con la ilusión de conquistar  el pasaporte a las semifinales. Y no será un desafío fácil ya que los juveniles isleños del Pacífico Sur, vienen de complicarle el triunfo a los campeones salientes Francia que apuntan resueltamente a semifinales junto a los restantes favoritos como Irlanda, el campeón saliente del Seis Naciones M20, como así también Sudáfrica, Nueva Zelanda y Australia. Para la confrontación con Fidi el entrenador platense José Pellicena, hace cambios en los delanteros, con el flanker correntino Jerónimo Gómez Vara que reemplaza al porteño Juan Cruz Pérez Rachel, mientras que en los backs, el porteño Joaquín de la Vega Mendia reemplazará como apertura al también porteño  Gerónimo Prisciantelli.  Siendo el medio scrum tucumano Gonzalo García el jugador clave para la maniobra ofensiva argentina. Será la tercera vez que Argentina y Fidji se enfrenten en Mundial M20. El segundo partido fue  en Nueva Zelanda 2014, por semifinales del 9º al 12º puesto, y Argentina ganó 38-12. Fidji acumula seis derrotas consecutivas en mundiales M20 años y el  último triunfo fue ante Estados Unidos en el 2011, por el 11º puesto. Su mejor ubicación histórica M20 fue  en 2012, cuando finalizó en el sexto lugar. Desde las 10.30 se medirán los ganadores del Grupo B: Australia vs  Irlanda, que vienen de superar  Italia e Inglaterra, por 36-12 y 42-26, respectivamente. Luego se enfrentarán los perdedores Inglaterra e Italia, a partir de las 15.30. En el Hipódromo del parque Independencia, a las 10.30 por el Grupo C jugarán Sudáfrica vs Georgia; a las 13, por el A, Francia vs Gales (clave para la suerte de Argentina) y a las 15.30 por el C, Nueva Zelanda vs Escocia. Las Posiciones: Disputada una jornada en  las tres zonas de la XII Copa Mundial M20, por el Grupo A,  Francia suma  5 puntos, Gales 4; Argentina 1 y Fidji 0.  Grupo B: Australia e Irlanda suman 5 puntos; a la vez que Inglaterra e Italia sin puntos. Grupo C: Nueva Zelanda y Sudáfrica cuentan con 5 puntos; mientras que Escocia y Georgia no tienen puntos.
