Mañana (06:20) los ACT Brumbies y los Queensland
Reds propondrán la gran final del primer Super Rugby Australiano en el Gio Stadium de Canberra, la capital de Australia,
relanzando a su vez, como máximas expresiones del rugby de Oceanía, a los Wallabies
ya designados, para IX Rugby Championship 2020.
A lo largo de todo el certamen (con
Covid-19 mediante) fueron los dos equipos más competitivos, más ofensivos y con juego desplegado con mayoría de tries: con
los Reds marcando 31 y los Brumbies 30, contando ambos planteles a los
jugadores más generadores de try, para dar cuerpo ahora a los Wallabies.
Es más, los ocho jugadores que han
hecho más asistencias, provienen de los Reds o de los Brumbies, destacando el
apertura del equipo proveniente de Brisbane, James O'Connor. El desafío de los medio scrums,
será determinante para Joe Powell de los Brumbies y Tate McDermott de los Reds.
Pero,
McDermott prevalece sobre Powell en tries y asistencias, habiendo jugado
más minutos que su colega de los
Brumbies. Aunque Powell prevalece en la velocidad para buscar el espacio en el
oponente, para liberar a sus compañeros con los pases de break para encontrar
el camino al try.
En la fase del juego desplegado por
sus delanteros, el line out tiene a los Brumbies como a los Reds se batalla con
margen en favor del XV de Canberra y será un área clave para los Reds, .que sí han
prevalecido en el scrum, anotando uno de cada cinco de todos sus tries en el
empuje de sus 8 delanteros.
Los Reds han marcado más tries en esta
temporada, lo que los convierte en uno de los equipos más sólidos del Super
Rugby. Por lo que la batalla por el título pone cara a cara a los dos desafiantes,
que seguramente propondrán final
