 En su despedida de Oceanía, los Pumas enfrentarán el sábado (05:45 hora de Argentina) a los  Wallabies que vestirán por segunda vez en el año, su camiseta aborigen, en última jornada del Tri Nations 2020, en el Western Sydney Stadium de Parramatta, suburbio oeste de Sidney.

El rosarino Jerónimo de la Fuente será el capitán, en el centro de los tres cuartos con el tucumano Matías Orlando,  y donde destacan el cordobés Santiago Carreras como full back, y el apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez máximo goleador histórico de los Pumas.

El entrenador porteño Mario Ledesma y el entrenador australiano Michael Cheika, armaron un quince inicial con 11 cambios, respecto a la quinta fecha donde los Pumas cayeron ante los All Blacks por 38-0, y entre los delanteros destaca el flanker santiagueño Facundo Isa.

Quedaron fuera del plantel los delanteros porteños Pablo Matera (flanker y capitán), Guido Petti Pagadizábal (segunda línea) y Santiago Socino (hooker), tras conocerse tuits xenófobos (escritos por los tres entre 2011 y 2013), y aparecidos a principios de semana.

La incógnita seguirá en la performance del scrum, los mauls  y los lines, donde tanto Wallabies como Pumas, tienen sus dudas y resquemores en éste final de campeonato caracterizado por las cuarentenas provocadas por la pandemia Covid-19 en el Pacífico Sur.

Mientras tanto, el entrenador neozelandés Dave Rennie, hizo tres cambios en los Wallabies respecto al empate de 15-15 con los Pumas, y apuntó al regreso del lesionado apertura James O'Connor, de 30 años, en lugar de Reece Hodge que ahora formará como full back.
