Con cuatro tries de vértigo en 28’ de juego y con punto bonus tempranero, Argentina se encaminaba a una sonora goleada al llegar a la pausa del primer tiempo en ventaja de 28-7,  pero sufrió un corto circuito inesperado y  terminó con el aliento contenido para apuntar al desafío del próximo sábado ante Inglaterra.

También la segunda jornada se conmovió con la resonante victoria de los ‘’Brave Blossoms’’ (los Cerezos en Flor) de Japón que ganaron a Irlanda por 19-12 y son líderes en el Grupo A con 9 puntos por 6 de Irlanda.

El 28-12 final con que Argentina cortó una pesadilla de diez derrotas seguidas, puso en evidencia que su autonomía de vuelo no va más allá de los 60’  de juego, cuando hasta el pitazo final de los 80’ debe terminarlos en apnea.  Ahora viene una semana para velar las armas buscando mejorar una defensa endeble.

Tonga fue mejor equipo que Argentina en el segundo tiempo, marcando su segundo try contra cero puntos de los Pumas sumergidos entre luces del primer tiempo y sombras en el complemento.  Lo que cuentas es que  Argentina se recuperó de su derrota encajada en  la primera ronda ante Francia.

Dos tries tempraneros del hooker porteño Julián Montoya, convertidos por el apertura porteño Benjamín Urdapilleta, pusieron a los Pumas en ventaja de 14-0 a los 18’ de juego en la segunda fecha en el Grupo C y que siguió con tercer try de vértigo del wing cordobés Santiago Carreras que aterrizó bajo los palos a los 21’.

Montoya a los 28’ sentenció la suerte del match con su hat-trick  sumando el punto bonus con un 28-0 que encendió pasiones pero a los 30’  llegó el primer aviso de Tonga que marc\u su try con el full back de los  Leicester Tigers ingleses, Telusa Veainu, que se abrió paso en la defensa argentina y Sonatane Takulua convirtió.

A David Halaifonua se le negó un segundo try por parte del TMO antes del descanso y en el segundo tiempo creció Tonga con excelente defensa de Sonatane Takulua que impidió que el medio scrum porteño Tomás Cubelli lograra el  quinto try. Tonga anotó el único try del segundo tiempo con Telusa Veainu, convertido por Sonatane Takulua para  28-12 final.

With four tries of vertigo in 28' of play and with early bonus point, Argentina was heading for a sound thrashing when arriving at the breake of the first half in advantage by 28-7, but suffered an unexpected short circuit and ended with the breath contained to point to the challenge next Saturday against England.

Tonga scored the only try of the second half with Telusa Veainu, converted by Sonatane Takulua for 28-12 final.
