Tonga anotó el único try del segundo tiempo con Telusa Veainu, convertido por Sonatane Takulua para  28-12 final.

El entrenador porteño Mario Ledesma recuerda la presión sobre Argentina, que en el VIII Mundial de Inglaterra-Gales 2015 fue semifinalista con el entrenador tucumano Daniel Hourcade, y que en Leicester, Argentina goleó a Tonga en la primera confrontación entre ambos por 45-16 con 25 puntos del apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez. Inglaterra es  campeón del mundo en Australia 2003 quedó  eliminado en primera ronda en Mundial que organizó en 2015  y contrató al australiano-japonés  Eddie Jones  que  llevó en cuatro años, a formar un equipo que hoy es candidato a disputar las semifinales en confrontación de los hemisferios, el Norte contra el Sur. Francia que  era una incógnita hasta el mismo comienzo del partido inaugural  donde Argentina era favorita por potencial físico, pero con fragilidad mental  para la alta intensidad del juego que propuso la juvenil pareja de medios francesa integrada por Antoine Dupont como medio scrum (22 años) y Romain Ntamack (20 años), y que se revelaron protagonistas del crucial desafío, hasta el minuto 80. Ellos lanzaron el juego de vértigo interpretado por el wing Damian Penaud y el carácter tackleador del  centro Gael Fickou.  Es más, entre los lesionados la primera baja se produjo con el centro Wesley Fofana.
