Una serie de polémicas infracciones cometidas por los Jaguares en el último cuarto de hora del partido, frenaron su levantada y permitieron  a los Otago Highlanders ganar por  32-27 (26-13) y provocar el “sorpasso” de la franquicia neozelandesa al 5º  lugar en la tabla general del IV Super Rugby 2019, derrumbando a los Jaguares al 6º puesto. Por lo que el debut de la franquicia argentina en su gira por el Pacífico Sur, no fue exitoso, cortando una serie de cuatro triunfos consecutivos, y cayendo en el profundo sur de la isla austral de Nueva Zelanda, donde los Highlanders anotaron tres tries en los últimos 10´ del primer tiempo, y que fue determinante para mantener la ventaja hasta el pitazo final del árbitro neozelandés Ben O'Keeffe. Mal comienzo para los Jaguares en la semana 13 del IV Super Rugby 2019, que en seis días deben enfrentar a los Hurricanes en Wellington por la ronda 14, la capital de Nueva Zelanda situada en el extremo sur de la Isla Norte, y que vienen de ganar como visitantes a los Blues por 22-12 en el Eden Park de Auckland, al norte de la Isla septentrional.  Los Jaguares tomaron ventaja con el try del centro porteño Matías Moroni, pero los Highlanders igualaron con el try del flanker James Lentjes y pasaron en ventaja parcial por primera vez con el try del full back Matt Faddes, pero los Jaguares recuperaron la punta  con penal del apertura porteño Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, para un coeficiente de 5 de 5 en los intentos a los palos. El try del centro  Sio Tompkinson a  los 36´ puso a los Highlanders de nuevo al frente ampliando la ventaja con el try del hooker Liam  Coltman en maul. Los Jaguares anotaron en el segundo tiempo con try del flanker entrerriano Marcos Kremer, acortando la ventaja a 26-20. Después el apertura  Josh Ioane convirtió  dos penales para la ventaja a 12 puntos, y en brillante try del wing tucumano Ramiro Moyano se llegó a la diferencia de cinco puntos finales en el Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin.
