Jaguares contra Reds para demostrar identidad como selección provincial argentina- Jaguares against Reds to prove their identity as a Argentinian provincial team.

Los Jaguares se presentarán el sábado en el noreste australiano, en la Riviera de Brisbane, como un seleccionado provincial argentino que se precia de tal, contra los Queenslands Reds por la ronda 15 del IV Super Rugby 2019, y lo hará con la flor y nata de la nueva generación fogueada en los Mundiales M20, como son el full back Juan Cruz Mallía (Jockey Club Córdoba) y el wing Santiago Carreras (Córdoba Athletic Club). Se sabe, que el Super Rugby nace como torneo que convoca a franquicias del Hemisferio Sur, que nacen de una Unión Provincial, ya sea de Australia, Nueva Zelanda y Sudáfrica, que contribuyen con sus selecciones provinciales a dar concreción de las respectivas franquicias, cuyos jugadores serán convocados a sus respectivos seleccionados nacionales.  De allí que los Jaguares ponen fin a su gira por el Pacífico Sur de cuatro partidos (dos en Nueva Zelanda y dos en Australia), buscando consolidar su promoción a los playoffs de cuartos de final, donde pretenden ser locales, a partir de liderar en la Conferencia Sudafricana con 36 puntos por 33 de su escolta los Natal Sharks y de ser segundos en la tabla general de las tres conferencias (Australiana, Neozelandesa y Sudafricana), por detrás de los Canterbury Crusaders, los campeones salientes. Cabe agregar de que cada equipo representa a una unión provincial, como es el caso de Crusaders, a la de Canterbury, de Hurricanes a la de Otago, de Highlanders a la de Wellington (la región cuya capital es Wellington y que lo es también de Nueva Zelanda), como en Australia los NSW Waratahs son de la provincia de Nueva Gales del Sur y los Reds son de la provincia de Queensland cuya capital es Brisbane. Hago éstas consideraciones debido al ambiente rugbístico australiano caldeado por declaraciones de ex Wallabies, como el ex hooker de NSW, Phil Kearns (tras la derrota de los NSW Waratahs frente a los Jaguares y el ex apertura de los NSW, Mark Ella, que pusieron  en dudas el plantel de los Jaguares sea una selección provincial argentina, y de que fueran los Pumas, la franquicia argentina (que es una selección provincial formada en ésta ocasión por 12 jugadores del interior y 11 de Buenos Aires), se presentará el sábado (06:30 hora argentina)  en el noreste australiano en la riviera de Brisbane, frente a los Queenslands Reds, habiendo ganado 6 de sus últimas 7 confrontaciones y 4 de esas victorias como visitantes, siendo ésta, la primera que realiza a Brisbane. También derrotaron a los ACT Brumbies 20-15 en Canberra, la capital de Australia en la anterior gira. Los Jaguares son líderes absolutos en la Conferencia Sudafricana y en su gira por el Pacífico Sur, perdieron frente a los Otago Highlanders (32-27), en Dunedin, se recuperaron ganando  a los Hurricanes (28-20) en Wellington y hace una semana vencieron a los NSW Waratahs (23-15) en Sidney.

 Con 3 puntos de ventaja sobre los segundos Natal Sharks, y están segundos en la tabla general por detrás solamente de los Canterbury Crusaders de Nueva Zelanda. Frente a los Queenslands Reds que están penúltimos en la Conferencia Australiana y penúltimos en la tabla general, los Jaguares presentan un fondo ofensivo, con el full back cordobés Juan Cruz Mallía (experimentado centro, apertura y goleador), y con las puntas donde destacan el tryman tucumano Ramiro Moyano y el cordobés Santiago Carreras de gran destreza en las pelotas de aire, como full back y como wing. Los Jaguares presentarán como titulares a 8 jugadores de Buenos Aires, 2 de Córdoba, 2 de Tucumán, 1 de Entre Ríos, y 1 de Santa Fe. Jaguares against Reds to prove their identity as a Argentinian provincial team.
