Las Águilas 7s volaron más alto que los Pumas 7s en final de la Copa de Oro del Seven de Las Vegas, cuarta etapa del Circuito Mundial 2017/2018. Con Danny Barrett que anotó dos tries y fue Man of the Match, Estados Unidos ganó 28-0 (14-0). El sábado 10 comienza Seven de Vancouver en Canadá. 

Argentina 7s logró una performance superlativa en su segunda final en cuatro etapas del circuito (la primera fue en Ciudad del Cabo ante Sudáfrica, el campeón saliente) y sigue en quinta posición con 67 puntos por detrás de Sudáfrica 92, Nueva Zelanda 82, Fidji 79, y Australia 72. Los Pumas 7s del capitán Gastón Revol,  aparecerían impetuosos en su final número 14 de la Copa de Oro y habían ganado el tramo de Estados Unidos dos veces antes, en Los Ángeles y en San Diego. Incluso con gran perormance ganaron a los All Blacks en la etapa de clasificación y a los Blitzboks campeones salientes en la semifinal. Pero en la final del oro enfrentaron el vuelo rasante de Perry Baker que abrió el marcador y Conrado Roura casi empata pero quedó muy aislado para llegar al ingol tras potente carga perforando defensa estadounidense y sobre el final de la etapa llegó el segundo try con Danny Barrett. 

En el segundo tiempo siguió el vértigo de Danny Barrett para el tercer try y el cuarto fue obra de Carlton Isles  con ensayo  en solitario a falta de 30 segundos para la bocina. Fue el  segundo título en el Circuito Mundial para Estados Unidos después de Londres en 2015. Argentina 7s (que jugó la final con completo azul oscuro), tiene potencial de cara al Mundial de San Francisco en julio, con el armado de Gastón Revol, Lautaro Bazán Vélez, Conrado Roura, Luciano González Rizzoni, Fernando Luna y Maximiliano Filizzola, encabezando la nueva generación. Fue un fin de semana intenso e inmenso para el rugby argentino tras la debacle en el Super Rugby 15, donde los Jaguares encajaron su tercera derrota consecutiva ante los Hurricanes, y Argentina XV fue segunda en el Americas Rugby Championship por detrás de las Águilas estadounidenses. Seguramente, varios jugadores de Argentina XV merecen la promoción a los Jaguares, como son los casos del full back Juan Cruz Mallía, del wing Germán Schulz, del pilar Franco Brarda y del segunda línea Diego Galetto, de probada experiencia, carácter, determinación y destreza individual.

The Eagles 7s flew higher than Pumas 7s at the end of Gold Cup Final of Las Vegas Sevens, fourth stage of 2017/2018 World Tour Sevens. With Danny Barrett scoring two tries and Man of the Match, United States won by 28-0 (14-0). On Saturday 10th, begins the Vancouver Sevens in Canada.
Argentina 7s achieved a superlative performance in its second final in four stages of World Circuit Sevens Series  (the first was in Cape Town against South Africa, the outgoing champion) and continues in fifth place with 67 points behind South Africa 92, New Zealand 82, Fiji 79 , and Australia 72.
The Pumas 7s of captain Gastón Revol, would appear impetuous in their final number 14 of the Gold Cup and had won United States stretch twice before, in Los Angeles and San Diego. Even with great performance won the All Blacks in qualifying stage and  Blitzboks outgoing champions in the semifinal. But in the final of the gold cup they faced the low flight of Perry Baker that opened the score and Conrado Roura almost tied but he was very isolated to reach the post after powerful load drilling American defense and on the end of the stage came the second try with Danny Barrett .

 In second half followed the vertigo of Danny Barrett for the third try and the fourth was the work of Carlton Isles with a solo try with 30 seconds remaining for the horn. It was the second title in World Tour Sevens  for United States after London in 2015. Argentina 7s (who played the final with full dark blue), has potential for the World Cup in San Francisco in July, with the armada of Gaston Revol, Lautaro Bazán Vélez, Conrad Roura, Luciano González Rizzoni, Fernando Luna and Maximiliano Filizzola, leading the new generation. It was an intense and immense weekend for Argentinian rugby after the debacle at Super Rugby 15, where the Jaguares conceded their third straight loss against Hurricanes of Wellington, and Argentina XV was second in the III Americas Rugby Championship behind the American Eagles. Surely, several players from Argentina XV deserve promotion to Jaguares, as are the cases of full back Juan Cruz Mallía,  wing Germán Schulz, of prop Franco Brarda and of second row Diego Galetto, of proven experience, character, determination and individual skill.
