Irlanda-Argentina y  Francia-Samoa, en partidos claves

Irlanda-Argentina en el “Aviva” de Dublín y Francia-Samoa en el “Stade de France” de París, proponen encuentros claves en la tercera jornada de la serie internacional del otoño europeo y que se completa con Gales-Nueva Zelanda en el “Millennium” de Cardiff, Inglaterra-Sudáfrica en “Twickenham” de Londres, Escocia-Tonga en el “Murrayfield” de Edimburgo, e Italia-Australia en el “Artemio Franchi” de Florencia.

Argentina se presentará en  Dublín , donde nunca pudo ganar hasta el momento. Luego de un triunfo frente a Gales y una derrota ante Francia, los Pumas escalaron al sexto lugar del escalafón IRB, desplazando Irlanda que busca mantenerse entre los ocho mejores ante la presión de Gales y Samoa.

Irlanda si gana, se  aseguraría estar entre los ocho mejores del ranking  IRB y con ello entrar al segundo nivel, pero la derrota ante los Pumas derrumbaría al quince del Trébol  hasta el noveno o el décimo lugar; es decir hasta la tercera franja de los países participantes al sorteo del  próximo 3 de diciembre en Londres

Argentina frente a Irlanda presentará cuatro cambios  respecto a los 15 que entraron  el sábado pasado en Lille ante Francia,  cayendo por 39 a 22. En los forwards, el pilar Maximiliano Bustos reemplaza a Juan Figallo, y en los backs habrá tres cambios. Santiago Fernández ingresará por Gonzalo Tiesi y Gonzalo Camacho y Juan Martín Hernández sustituyen a Horacio Agulla y Lucas González Amorosino.

Entre los suplentes junto a Tiesi, se encuentran  Agustín Creevy, Nahuel Lobo, Francisco Gómez Kodela y Tomás Vallejos Cinalli. Mientras que Tomás Leonardi estará en lugar de Tomás De la Vega, y Nicolás Vergallo y Manuel Montero remplazarán a Tomás Cubelli y Joaquín Tuculet, respectivamente.

Se enfrentarán por 18°  vez, con siete victorias de los Pumas, un empate y nueve derrotas. Además Argentina buscarán obtener su primer triunfo como visitante y se da la importancia psicológica de que imponerse  el sábado ,  tendrá implicaciones directas para el sorteo de grupos clasificatorios al mundial Inglaterra 2015.

Irlanda va al ataque incluyendo al wing  izquierdo debutante Craig Gilroy  del Ulster (la provincia de la Irlanda del Norte) que  viene de  impresionar contra Fiyi donde Irlanda A se impuso 53-0  en el Thomond Park y se unirá al trío formado por el full back Simon Zebo y al wing derecho Tommy Bowe  (también del Ulster).

En el centro va el dúo Gordon D'Arcy- Keith Earls, mientras que el apertura Jonathan Sexton  reaparece  tras  lesión en la ingle sufrida durante el calentamiento para el partido ante  Fiyi. Sexton está a sólo dos unidades de superar los 250 puntos como  goleador .  Entre los delanteros Richardt Strauss va como hoocker y el segunda línea Donncha O'Callaghan que está de suplente, si juega alcanzaría los  90  “caps”.

Una victoria de Irlanda sobre Argentina, aumentaría su calificación a 79,82, aunque Gales y Samoa salgan victoriosos ante Nueva Zelanda y Francia, respectivamente y le garantizaría estar entre los ocho mejores ya que superaría Argentina que cuenta con el actual índice de 79,10.

Una derrota  precipitaría  Irlanda al índice 77,82 y saldría fuera de los ocho mejores del ranking, ya que tanto Gales como Samoa no pueden caer por debajo de 78,95 y 78,67; incluso si pierden por más de 15 puntos ante Nueva Zelanda y Francia, respectivamente  (en ese caso, Escocia también podría superar a Irlanda si gana a Tonga por más de 15, al igual que Italia si bate Australia).

Un empate en el Aviva con los Pumas, empujaría Irlanda por debajo de Gales, confiando en que Francia pueda ganar a Samoa para asegurarse el octavo lugar.

Por su parte, Argentina retiene el sexto lugar con independencia de los  resultados en cualquier otro lugar, y mientras que una derrota sería verlos caer por debajo de Irlanda por lo que se requeriría saber come le va a Galés como Samoa.

En síntesis éstos 12 equipos (seis del Hemisferio Norte y seis del Hemisferio Sur) calificados, están involucrados este fin de semana.  En la cumbre, con excepción del campeón del mundo Nueva Zelanda, habrá competición por una posición entre Australia, Francia e Inglaterra, por dos lugares en la banda superior, junto a Nueva Zelanda y Sudáfrica.

La situación se hace más complicada todavía ya que a Inglaterra y Gales les falta  ser anfitriones de  Nueva Zelanda y Australia la próxima semana, y esos partidos entrarán en la ecuación. Las maniobras para las posiciones se verificarán además en los sorteos para el segundo nivel.

Si el sorteo se verificara hoy, las franjas para el sorteo mundial serían las siguientes: Banda 1: Nueva Zelanda, Sudáfrica, Australia, y Francia.  Band 2: Inglaterra, Argentina, Irlanda, y Gales, Banda 3: Samoa, Escocia, Italia, y Tonga, Banda 4: Oceanía 1, Europa 1, Asia 1, y América 1; y  Band 5: Africa 1, Europa 2, Américas 2, repesca ganador.

Ireland-Argentina at the "Aviva Stadium" in Dublin, and France-Samoa at the "Stade de France" in Paris, propose the key games on the third round on the European autumn international series is completed  with Wales-New Zealand at the " Millennium " of Cardiff, England-South Africa at Twickenham in London, Scotland-Tonga at Murrayfield of Edinburgh, and Italy-Australia at the" Artemio Franchi " of Florence.

Argentina will be presented in Dublin, where never won so far. After a win against Wales and a loss to France, the Pumas climbed to sixth place  in the IRB rankings, displacing Ireland are looking to stay in the top eight to pressure from Wales and Samoa.

Argentina against Ireland will present four changes in the team loss the last Saturday against France at  Lille, by  39-22. Ireland goes to the attack including rookie left wing Craig Gilroy of Ulster (the province of Northern Ireland) who comes to impress against Fiji where Ireland A won 53-0 at Thomond Park and will join the trio of full back Simon Zebo and right wing Tommy Bowe (Ulster also).

In the center is the duo Gordon D'Arcy, Keith Earls, while fly half  Jonathan Sexton reappears after groin injury suffered during the warm-up for the match against Fiji. An Irish victory over Argentina, increase its rating to 79.82, while Wales and Samoa are victorious against New Zealand and France, respectively, and would guarantee to be among the top eight since surpass Argentina with the current rate of 79.10 .

A defeat would precipitate Ireland at 77.82 and would rate outside the top eight in the rankings, as both Wales and Samoa can not fall below 78.95 and 78.67, even if they lose by more than 15 points against New Zealand and France, respectively (in this case, also could overtake Scotland Ireland if they beat Tonga by more than 15, as if Italy beats Australia).

A draw at the Aviva Stadium with the Pumas, push Wales Ireland below, confident that France can beat Samoa to secure eighth place.

For its part, Argentina holds sixth place regardless of results elsewhere, and while a defeat would see them drop below Ireland so would require going to learn Welsh eats like Samoa.

In short these 12 teams (six of six from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere) qualified, are involved this weekend. At the summit, with the exception of New Zealand world champion, will be competing for a position between Australia, France and England, for two places in the top band, along with New Zealand and South Africa.

The situation becomes even more complicated as they lack England and Wales to host New Zealand and Australia next week, and those parties enter into the equation. The jockeying for positions are also checked in the draws for the second level.

If the draw was verified today, slots for worldwide draft would be as follows: Band 1: New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and France. Band 2: England, Argentina, Ireland, and Wales, Band 3: Samoa, Scotland, Italy and Tonga, Band 4: Oceania 1, Europe 1, Asia 1, and Latin 1, and Band 5: Africa 1, Europe 2, Americas 2, repechage winner.
