Australia ganó una crucial victoria del sábado (25-18) en Argentina, lo que le permite completar las Cuatro Naciones en segundo lugar detrás de lo inesperado Nueva Zelanda, después de una campaña decepcionante en el juego.

Los Wallabies terminaron por delante de Sudáfrica gracias a  las 3 victorias, por 3 derrotas, contra 2 victorias, 1 empate y 3 derrotas de los Springboks. A la vez que los All Blacks terminaron invictos con 6 victorias en 6 encuentros sumando 26 puntos por 12 de Australia y Sudáfrica y 4 de Argentina.

Pero además Australia recuperó  el segundo lugar en el escalafón mundial desplazando a Sudáfrica del puesto de escolta del líder absoluto Nueva Zelanda.

Ahora el ranking IRB muestra a Nueva Zelanda con 93.35 por delante de Australia con 85.92 y Sudáfrica que cuenta con 84.69. Más atrás se ubica Inglaterra con 83.09, Francia 83.03, Gales 82.26, Irlanda 79.85, y Argentina en octava posición con 78.63.

Esta ubicación es importante mejorarla en la ventana de noviembre donde los Pumas enfrentarán a Gales, Francia e Irlanda, buscando tener buena posición al 3 de diciembre cuando tenga lugar el sorteo en Londres de los grupos de clasificación para el mundial Inglaterra 2015

Argentina en su primera participación al torneo de mayor prestigio en el hemisferio sur, no tuvo  victorias, pero sí  un empate ante Sudáfrica (16-16); y  Australia bajo presión de los críticos por  actuaciones muy mediocres, ganó con su estrella el wing Digby Ioanne que salvó los muebles en varios partidos del 4N.

El entrenador neocelandés Robbie Deans fue reivindicado en la selección australiana frente a una serie interminable de lesionados para asumir el desafío ante Argentina. Y el hombre del partido fue el novato full back y pateador Michael Harris que convirtió 20 puntos ante Los Pumas, incluidos cinco en la primera mitad para poner por delante Australia 15-9 al descanso.

Así ésta tercera victoria de Australia por 25-19 ante Argentina en el torneo de élite del hemisferio sur, le permitió terminar en igualdad de puntos con Sudáfrica, pero consiguió el subcampeonato en virtud de haber ganado más victorias que los Springboks.

Para el segunda línea y capitán Nathan Sharpe "La cancha era muy pequeña para  lo que estamos acostumbrados y la pelota era más húmeda de la que imaginábamos. Además en mi carrera, nunca ví a una multitud tan hostil, pero por suerte cumplimos con nuestro trabajo".

Está claro que los Wallabies aprovecharon la indisciplina de Los Pumas para que el goleador debutante Mike Harris convirtiera 6 de 7 penales factibles (18 puntos). Mientras que Los Pumas, que soñaban con conseguir un primer éxito  se quedaron en busca de inspiración ante el público s de Rosario. Pero al final llegó la gloria para el ídolo local, el wing Juan Imhoff que anotó ´con  vigor el ensayo del honor (76´).

Fue la despedida del histórico pilar Rodrigo Roncero quién a sus 35 años y con 55 selecciones en 14 años de carrera internacional decidió despedirse y decir adiós. Y la continuidad del entrenador Santiago Phelan que anticipó que seguirá trabajando en la preparación de la exigente temporada 2013.

THRILLING FINISH FOR A FIRST SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE FOUR NATIONS

Australia won a crucial victory on Saturday (25-18) in Argentina, allowing you to complete the Four Nations in second place behind the  New Zealand champions, after a disappointing season.

The Wallabies finished ahead of South Africa thanks to 3 wins, 3 losses, against 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats for the Springboks. While the All Blacks finished undefeated with six wins in six games totaling 26 points for 12 of Australia and South Africa and 4 in Argentina.

But besides Australia regained second place in the world rankings since moving to South Africa like escort of leader New Zealand.Now the IRB ranking shows New Zealand with 93.35 ahead of Australia and South Africa with 85.92 with 84.69. More lies behind England with 83.09, France 83.03, 82.26 Wales, Ireland 79.85, and Argentina in eighth place with 78.63.

This location is important to improve it in the November window where the Pumas face Wales, France and Ireland, looking to have a good position to 3 December when the draw takes place in London from the qualifying groups for the England World Cup 2015 .

For the lock and captain Nathan Sharpe "The pitch was very small for what we are used and the ball was wet from the imagined. Addition in my career, I never saw a crowd so hostile, but luckily did our job ".

Tras la conclusión de los seis partidos que involucran a los 12 cabezas de serie para el sorteo de los grupos clasificatorios al mundial Inglaterra 2015, la tercera fecha de la serie otoñal europea destacó la debacle de Argentina que cayó por el resultado más abultado de la historia ante Irlanda por 46-24 y perdió su  sexto lugar del escalafón mundial  para derrumbarse al noveno peldaño, fuera de los ocho mejores donde Francia brilla al crecer frente a Samoa ganando por 22-14.

La fiebre del sábado por la noche fue celebrada por Francia que consolidó su cuarta posición en el ranking mundial hilvanando tres victorias de prestigio: 33-6 a Australia, 39-22 a Argentina y 22-14 a Samoa. Fue el único equipo del hemisferio norte a dar cuenta de los tres representantes del hemisferi sur en su agenda del otoño europeo. Y su figura fue el apertura Frederic Michalak, no solo por goleador, sino por estratega de Les Bleus.

Distinto el derrotero de Argentina que llegó a la cita europea jugando de mayor a menor ya que deslumbró en el cotejo inaugural ante Gales en Cardiff, para ir  decayendo en su performance frente a Francia en Lille y caer sin remedio ante Irlanda, que se impuso en toda la línea, infligiendo una humillante derrota a los Pumas, maniatados por sus propias limitaciones. Irlanda con un solo test ante Sudáfrica donde cayó por 16-12 estando en ventaja de 12-3, pudo mas que el rendimiento argentino ocho partidos seguidos.

Una mención especial para Samoa que disputó un tremendo encuentro ante Francia, y mereció mejor suerte pero le faltó determinación para concretar en el toque final. Ya lo había demostrado ganando en Cardiff a Gales, y que están para más. Muy buena la performance de Inglaterra que perdió por un punto ante los Springboks que se impusieron 16-15 en Londres, y de Italia que sometió a duro examen a los Wallabies en Florencia para perder por 22-19.

Está en juego las posiciones que asignan a los cuatro mejores de la segunda banda para el sorteo del próximo lunes 3 de diciembre en Londres, donde los cuatro máximos cabeza de serie son Nueva Zelanda, Sudáfrica, Australia y Francia.. Y donde la brecha de calificaciones entre los cuatro mejores y el resto es demasiado alta, por lo que está en  juego todavía los resultados de los dos últimos partidos del próximo sábado 1 de diciembre entre Inglaterra v Nueva Zelanda y Gales v Australia.

Inglaterra e Irlanda se confirman  como la segunda banda a partir del quinto al octavo puesto, y si Gales evita la derrota ante Australia, Gales y Samoa se llevarán los otros dos lugares en disputa por lo que Argentina quedaría relegada al noveno lugar, es decir a la tercera banda. Pero si Australia derrota a Gales, entonces Samoa y Argentina se llevarán los puntos para la segunda banda, desplazando Gales junto a Italia, Tonga y Escocia  en la tercera franja clasificatoria.

Si bien las clasificaciones oficiales se publicarán el lunes al mediodía (hora británica, las 9 de la mañana en Argentina), las posiciones provisorias son las siguientes:  1°) NUEVA ZELANDA - 92,91, 2°) SOUTH AFRICA - 86,94, 3°) AUSTRALIA - 86,31

PUMAS COLLAPSED AGAINST IRELAND AND FRANCE GREW AGAINST SAMOA

Following the conclusion of the six games involving the 12 seeded draw for the World Cup qualifying groups England 2015 in the third round of the European autumn series, highlighted the Argentina debacle that fell by the highest scoring of history against Ireland, lost by 46-24 and the sixth place  in the IRB rankings, collapsing  for the ninth rung outside the top eight; to grow where France shone against Samoa winning by 22-14.

Fever Saturday night was held by France which consolidated their fourth position in the world ranking with three wins prestigious threading: 33-6 to Australia, 39-22 to Argentina and 22-14 to Samoa. It was the only northern hemisphere team to realize the three representatives of the southern hemispheric agenda in European autumn. And her figure was the flyhalf Frederic Michalak, not only scorer, but was the strategist of the Les Bleus .

Unlike the itinerary of Argentina who came to the European event playing high to low since dazzled in collating opener against Wales at Cardiff, declining to go into his performance against France in Lille and fall hopelessly against Ireland at Dublin, who won whole line, inflicting a humiliating defeat , bound by their own limitations. And where the ratings gap between the top four and the rest is too high, so the stakes yet the results of the last two matches on Saturday December 1st between England v New Zealand and Wales v Australia.

England and Ireland are confirmed as the second band from the fifth to eighth place, and if Wales avoid defeat against Australia, Wales and Samoa will be the other two places in dispute, so that Argentina would be relegated to ninth place, at the third band. But if Australia defeats Wales, Samoa and Argentina  take the points for the second band, displacing Wales with Italy, Tonga and Scotland in the third qualifying strip.

Irlanda-Argentina y  Francia-Samoa, en partidos claves

Irlanda-Argentina en el “Aviva” de Dublín y Francia-Samoa en el “Stade de France” de París, proponen encuentros claves en la tercera jornada de la serie internacional del otoño europeo y que se completa con Gales-Nueva Zelanda en el “Millennium” de Cardiff, Inglaterra-Sudáfrica en “Twickenham” de Londres, Escocia-Tonga en el “Murrayfield” de Edimburgo, e Italia-Australia en el “Artemio Franchi” de Florencia.

Argentina se presentará en  Dublín , donde nunca pudo ganar hasta el momento. Luego de un triunfo frente a Gales y una derrota ante Francia, los Pumas escalaron al sexto lugar del escalafón IRB, desplazando Irlanda que busca mantenerse entre los ocho mejores ante la presión de Gales y Samoa.

Irlanda si gana, se  aseguraría estar entre los ocho mejores del ranking  IRB y con ello entrar al segundo nivel, pero la derrota ante los Pumas derrumbaría al quince del Trébol  hasta el noveno o el décimo lugar; es decir hasta la tercera franja de los países participantes al sorteo del  próximo 3 de diciembre en Londres

Argentina frente a Irlanda presentará cuatro cambios  respecto a los 15 que entraron  el sábado pasado en Lille ante Francia,  cayendo por 39 a 22. En los forwards, el pilar Maximiliano Bustos reemplaza a Juan Figallo, y en los backs habrá tres cambios. Santiago Fernández ingresará por Gonzalo Tiesi y Gonzalo Camacho y Juan Martín Hernández sustituyen a Horacio Agulla y Lucas González Amorosino.

Entre los suplentes junto a Tiesi, se encuentran  Agustín Creevy, Nahuel Lobo, Francisco Gómez Kodela y Tomás Vallejos Cinalli. Mientras que Tomás Leonardi estará en lugar de Tomás De la Vega, y Nicolás Vergallo y Manuel Montero remplazarán a Tomás Cubelli y Joaquín Tuculet, respectivamente.

Se enfrentarán por 18°  vez, con siete victorias de los Pumas, un empate y nueve derrotas. Además Argentina buscarán obtener su primer triunfo como visitante y se da la importancia psicológica de que imponerse  el sábado ,  tendrá implicaciones directas para el sorteo de grupos clasificatorios al mundial Inglaterra 2015.

Irlanda va al ataque incluyendo al wing  izquierdo debutante Craig Gilroy  del Ulster (la provincia de la Irlanda del Norte) que  viene de  impresionar contra Fiyi donde Irlanda A se impuso 53-0  en el Thomond Park y se unirá al trío formado por el full back Simon Zebo y al wing derecho Tommy Bowe  (también del Ulster).

En el centro va el dúo Gordon D'Arcy- Keith Earls, mientras que el apertura Jonathan Sexton  reaparece  tras  lesión en la ingle sufrida durante el calentamiento para el partido ante  Fiyi. Sexton está a sólo dos unidades de superar los 250 puntos como  goleador .  Entre los delanteros Richardt Strauss va como hoocker y el segunda línea Donncha O'Callaghan que está de suplente, si juega alcanzaría los  90  “caps”.

Una victoria de Irlanda sobre Argentina, aumentaría su calificación a 79,82, aunque Gales y Samoa salgan victoriosos ante Nueva Zelanda y Francia, respectivamente y le garantizaría estar entre los ocho mejores ya que superaría Argentina que cuenta con el actual índice de 79,10.

Una derrota  precipitaría  Irlanda al índice 77,82 y saldría fuera de los ocho mejores del ranking, ya que tanto Gales como Samoa no pueden caer por debajo de 78,95 y 78,67; incluso si pierden por más de 15 puntos ante Nueva Zelanda y Francia, respectivamente  (en ese caso, Escocia también podría superar a Irlanda si gana a Tonga por más de 15, al igual que Italia si bate Australia).

Un empate en el Aviva con los Pumas, empujaría Irlanda por debajo de Gales, confiando en que Francia pueda ganar a Samoa para asegurarse el octavo lugar.

Por su parte, Argentina retiene el sexto lugar con independencia de los  resultados en cualquier otro lugar, y mientras que una derrota sería verlos caer por debajo de Irlanda por lo que se requeriría saber come le va a Galés como Samoa.

En síntesis éstos 12 equipos (seis del Hemisferio Norte y seis del Hemisferio Sur) calificados, están involucrados este fin de semana.  En la cumbre, con excepción del campeón del mundo Nueva Zelanda, habrá competición por una posición entre Australia, Francia e Inglaterra, por dos lugares en la banda superior, junto a Nueva Zelanda y Sudáfrica.

La situación se hace más complicada todavía ya que a Inglaterra y Gales les falta  ser anfitriones de  Nueva Zelanda y Australia la próxima semana, y esos partidos entrarán en la ecuación. Las maniobras para las posiciones se verificarán además en los sorteos para el segundo nivel.

Si el sorteo se verificara hoy, las franjas para el sorteo mundial serían las siguientes: Banda 1: Nueva Zelanda, Sudáfrica, Australia, y Francia.  Band 2: Inglaterra, Argentina, Irlanda, y Gales, Banda 3: Samoa, Escocia, Italia, y Tonga, Banda 4: Oceanía 1, Europa 1, Asia 1, y América 1; y  Band 5: Africa 1, Europa 2, Américas 2, repesca ganador.

El sábado se pondrán en escena dos choques decisivos en el calendario del rugby mundial cuando se enfrenten Francia -Argentina en Lille e Inglaterra-Australia  en Londres.  Dos clásicos en la confrontación de los hemisferios y donde están en juego la ubicación en el escalafón IRB para el sorteo de los grupo clasificatorios de Inglaterra 2015 el 3 de diciembre en Londres.

 

Como decir el rugby en su máxima expresión, más allá de que completan la segunda jornada de la serie del otoño europeo, Gales-Samoa en Cardiff, Escocia-Sudáfrica en Edimburgo, Italia-Nueva Zelanda en Roma e Irlanda A-Samoa en Dublín.

 

Francia llega a la cita habiendo escalado al cuarto lugar del ránking desplazando Inglaterra al quinto gracias a la histórica victoria ante Australia de 33-6. Argentina escaló al séptimo peldaño donde estaba Irlanda, gracias al espectacular triunfo ante los campeones del 6 Naciones, Gales y por 26-12.

 

Hoy ambos equipos latinos buscan la gloria , como exclaman sus respectivos himnos: “Le Jour de gloire est arrivé” entonan los franceses; “Oh juremos con gloria morir”, se exhaltan los argentinos. En cambio Inglaterra en Twickenham intenta recuperar el cuarto lugar del ránking con una victoria frente a Australia que busca redimirse de su contraste en París ante Francia.

 

Como dijo nuestro amigo Bob Dwyer , “El rugby es un juego que merece ser disputado de manera positiva, quiero decir que cada equipo debe estar dispuesto a arriesgar la derrota en  búsqueda del triunfo. Si su objetivo principal es evitar la derrota para evitar riesgos, sería mejor que no jugaran al rugby en absoluto. Exponerse a ganar mediante aprovechamiento de los errores del  oponente, es en mi opinión, una forma miserable de jugar al rugby”.

Y ésta premisa de Dwyer, ex entrenador de los Wallabies,  se pone en evidencia en la cuenta regresiva para el desafío entre Francia subcampeón mundial y cuarto mejor selección nacional del mundo, y Argentina que viene de escalar a la séptima posición del ránking IRB. Los técnicos Philip Saint-André y Santiago Phelan saben que deben ponen toda la carne al asador para un choque trascendente.

 

Francia confirmó a su quince titular y Argentina ya tiene la formación para enfrentarla en el “Stade Lille Metropole” de Lille (norte francés fronterizo a Bélgica). Hay tres modificaciones para Argentina en los backs, respecto al sábado pasado en el “Millennium” de Cardiff.

 

Marcelo Bosch y Lucas González Amorosino remplazan a los lesionados Felipe Contepomi en el centro del ataque y a Juan Martín Hernández como full back; y el wing Horacio Agulla desplaza al tryman Gonzalo Camacho, al banco de suplentes.

 

Como reservas junto a Camacho, estarán Agustín Creevy, Tomás Vallejos Cinalli, y Joaquín Tuculet, agregándose Nahuel Lobo, Francisco Gómez Kodela, Tomás De la Vega y Tomás Cubelli; en el caso del pilar entrerriano Nahuel Lobo (jugador de Montpellier francés), de entrar ante Francia, haría su debut en absoluto en la Seleccionado Mayor.

 

El entrenador de Francia, Philippe Saint-André recompensó a sus jugadores por la goleada a los Wallabies de 33-6 del pasado sábado en Paris, y anunció que no hay cambios en la escuadra, salvo el ingreso del segunda línea Yoann Maestri que estuvo ausente contra Australia.

 

La mayor victoria de Francia sobre Australia desde 1976, tuvo como protagonista al apertura Frederic Michalak y al pack conducido por el octavo Louis Picamoles, siendo el tryman el wing Wesley Fofana.

 

Francia enfrentó a los Pumas dos veces en junio pasado, perdiendo el primer test 23-20 en el “Mario Alberto Kempes” de Córdoba y ganando el segundo 49-10 en el “Monumental  José Fierro” del Atlético Tucumán. “Les Bleus” completan su programa de la serie otoñal europea contra Samoa el 24 de noviembre.

 

Para el “flanker” Yannick Nyanga “los Pumas parten favoritos porque contra Gales demostraron que su victoria fue construida con maniobras precisas y si bien Australia también era favorita contra Francia, ellos –por Argentina- saben como jugar con determinación y carácter  fogueado en el Cuatro Naciones”.

 

Será el 47º desafío en el historial de Argentina y Francia, donde Los Pumas ganaron 12 veces por 33 de “Les Bleus”, y se registró un empate. El único antecedente entre ambos equipos en Lille se remonta al 11 de noviembre de 1988 con victoria francesa de 28-18. En aquel encuentro Fabián Turnes, hoy integrante del cuerpo técnico de Los Pumas, convirtió cinco penales.

 

Mientras tanto, transcurren horas aciagas para el entrenador neocelandés de Australia; un Robbie Deans que busca redimirse ante Inglaterra, tras la debacle sufrida en el “Stade de France” de París ante Francia donde los Wallabies fueron acusados de “no tener carácter ni corazón”.

 

Robbie Deans reconoció la derrota Wallabies en París como "inexcusable", pero defendió el carácter de su equipo, y a pesar de más lesiones prometió una remontada en Twickenham, presentando Ben Tapuai y Adam Ashley-Cooper como centros, Digby Ioane y Nick Cummins como wines y Berrick Barnes por Mike Harris como fullback.

"No es el fin del mundo. Tenemos mucha experiencia para este desafío y esta serie de adversidades a la larga, nos será muy útil y no hay dudas de que habrá una fuerte reacción por parte de Australia", sentenció Deans tras haber digerido la derrota de 27 puntos en París.

 

Por el lado de Inglaterra no obstante ganar a Fiyi por 54-12, no hay tranquilidad ni se sienten favoritos en el plantel entrenado por Stuart Lancaster y Mike Catt. La historia está llena de favoritos que al final no lo fueron como fue el caso de Nueva Zelanda, que apenas empató 18-18 con los Wallabies en Brisbane el 19 de octubre.

 

Por eso Mike Catt, anticipa que “Inglaterra debe mantener la calma y tomar las decisiones correctas en el momento adecuado y no caer en el exceso de confianza, ya que no habrá concesiones comenzando con el scrum. No podemos dar a Australia un comienzo dominador en los primeros 20 minutos, porque nos van a castigar".

Le samedi mettra en scène deux défi decisif dans le monde du rugby lors de leur rencontre à Lille France-Argentine et Anglaterre-Australie, à Londres. Deux confrontation classique des hémisphères sont en jeu et où l'emplacement dans le classement IRB pour le tirage au sort pour le groupe de qualification de l'Angleterre 2015 , que se tiendra à Londres le 3 Décembre 2015 à Londres.

Comme dit le rugby à son meilleur, au-delà de l'achèvement du second tour de la série d´automne européen, au Pays de Galles-Samoa à Cardiff, Ecosse-Afrique du Sud au Edimbourg, Italie-Nouvelle-Zélande à Rome et l'Irlande A-Samoa à Dublin.
