Culminando una de las peores trayectorias en una década, Argentina encajó su sexta derrota consecutiva en otros tantos juegos  del Rugby Championship 2021 (2 en Sudáfrica y 4 en Australia por pandemia Covid-19), cayendo ante Australia por 32-17 (15-3) en el Cbus Stadium de Robina,  Gold Coast, noreste de Oceanía.

El acontecimiento positivo de gira  que dejó un saldo de escándalo con 6 jugadores porteños detenidos por infringir normas sanitarias de Covid, en frontera entre Queensland y Nueva Gales del Sur,  fue el ingreso de tres pilares debutantes, el cordobés  Eduardo Bello, el mendocino Rodrigo Martínez y el tucumano Thomas Gallo.

Y el hecho histórico fue el doblete de Thomas Gallo con pick-and-go , por lo que las esperanzas de ésta nueva generación del rugby del interior del país, sea  un estímulo para terminar el año, con mejor rendimiento en la gira que comienza en noviembre por el otoño-invierno europeo, ante Francia, Italia e Irlanda.

Los Wallabies ganaron las batallas de contacto, abordaron mejor los arranques, llevaron más dinámica en el traslado pasando más rápido el balón y anotaron cinco tries a dos con ventaja parcial de 15-3 y final de 32-17 para encaramarse en el 2º lugar con 18 puntos por detrás del campeón All Blacks con 25unidades.

Momento clave a los 26’ de juego con el segunda línea porteño Tomás Lavanini, en enésima  tarjeta amarilla,  por taclear a rival  en salto en el aire,  y con Australia que factura: try del hooker Wallaby Folau (27’), y try del wing Andrew Kallaway (34’) convertido por el apertura Quade Cooper . Total: pasivo de 12 puntos.

Demasiadas situaciones negativas y desagradables para soluciona,r por parte del Management de la UAR,  tanto dentro como fuera de la cancha. Argentina tendrá un descanso de reflexión hasta noviembre, cuando emprenda la gira en el otoño-invierno europeo enfrentando a Francia, Italia e Irlanda.

Allí se pondrá de relieve éste cambio generacional con la nueva linfa que viene del interior del país, para ser mayoría en el plantel, luego de tanta presencia porteña, buscando la redención de superar uno de los niveles más bajos en lo que va de la década, y apuntando al Mundial  Francia 2023.

Argentina buscará  la redención ante Nueva Zelanda y presentará cambios estratégicos en la revancha por la cuarta ronda del Rugby Championship 2021 y que tendrá lugar  mañana sábado en el Suncorp Stadium de Brisbane, capital del Estado de Queensland, en el noreste australiano, a las 07:05 hora argentina. Anticipan en el mismo recinto Australia vs Sudáfrica a las 04:05.

Hoy la gran elección para el entrenador porteño Mario Ledesma, es contar con dos polifuncionales como los  cordobeses Juan Cruz Mallía y Santiago Carreras que destacaron a lo largo de la línea de tres cuartos, y donde Mallía es full back, y fue wing  y centro, por lo que le falta ser apertura, un puesto que prefiere,  y para el que ahora se propone Carreras, que ya fue wing y full back.

Como en 2020 con el TriNations por ausencia de los Springboks debido a las restricciones por el Covid-19 en Sudáfrica con fronteras cerradas, Australia es nuevamente  el país anfitrión del Rugby Championshipn2021 de las cuatro naciones del hemisferio sur  con ocho partidos desde el 12 de septiembre.

Si en 2020 el Estado de Nueva Gales del Sur, en el centro-este australiano, organizó los seis partidos que consagraron campeones a los All Blacks, ahora es  el Estado de Queensland en el noreste de Oceanía, el encargado de recibir al cuarteto que disputará un programa de cuatro jornadas dobles.

Por lo que con cuarentena mediante por el COVID-19 provocado por propagación de la variante delta, la SANZAAR (sociedad Sudáfrica, Nueva Zelanda, Australia, Argentina), .el ente rector del rugby en el hemisferio sur y Rugby Australia (la Unión Australiana), llegaron al acuerdo de dar vida a la edición 2021.

Con la presencia de los cuatro seleccionados Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Sudáfrica y Argentina, las ciudades sedes, serán Gold Coast, Townsville y Brisbane, la capital de Queensland, que albergarán desde el 12 de septiembre al 2 de octubre, la competición que zanjó el cierre de fronteras en Nueva Zelanda.

El director ejecutivo de SANZAAR, el australiano Brendan Morris, expresó: ‘’El año pasado fue difícil cuando tuvimos que hacer torneo de Tres Naciones en Australia con Sudáfrica ausente debido a la pandemia, pero la 'variante delta' de COVID-19 hizo que gobierno de Nueva Zelanda endurezca medidas de bioseguridad”.

‘’SANZAAR había considerado trasladar los partidos restantes a Europa o aceptar una oferta de Sudáfrica para albergar el resto del torneo allí, pero el gobierno estatal de Queensland rápidamente puso en marcha un plan para albergar los juegos’’, resaltó Brendan Morris.

A la vez que el ministro de Deportes del Estado de Queensland, Stirling Hinchliffe, manifestó: ‘’Argentina y Sudáfrica llegarán a Brisbane el viernes, y tendrán que estar en cuarentena durante dos semanas, pero luego operarán normalmente en Australia sin restricciones en sus movimientos".

Encore Los Pumas avant un grand défi d'un 4 Nations en Australie

 Comme en 2020 avec les TriNations en raison de l'absence des Springboks pour des restrictions par le Covid-19 en Afrique du Sud aux frontières fermées, l'Australie est à nouveau le pays hôte du Rugby Championshipn2021 des quatre nations de l'hémisphère sud avec huit matchs depuis 12 septembre.

Si en 2020 l'État de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud, dans le centre-est de l'Australie, a organisé les six matchs qui ont fait des All Blacks champions, c'est désormais l'État du Queensland au nord-est de l'Océanie, chargé de recevoir le quatuor qui jouera un programme de quatre journées doubles.

Ainsi, avec la mise en quarantaine par COVID-19 causée par la propagation de la variante delta, SANZAAR (Afrique du Sud, Nouvelle-Zélande, Australie, Argentine), l'instance dirigeante du rugby dans l'hémisphère sud et Rugby Australia (l'Union australienne), ils ont atteint un accord pour donner vie à l'édition 2021.

Avec la présence des quatre sélectionnés Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Afrique du Sud et Argentine, les villes hôtes seront Gold Coast, Townsville et Brisbane, la capitale du Queensland, qui accueillera du 12 septembre au 2 octobre, la compétition qui a réglé la frontière fermeture en Nouvelle-Zélande.

En el Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, de Port Elizabeth, en el extremo austral de Sudáfrica, comenzó la gira de 6 partidos por el hemisferio sur para los Pumas que cayeron ante  los Springboks por 32-12 (21-6), en primera jornada del Rugby Championship 2021. Antes, los All Blacks golearon a los Wallabies por 57-22 en el Eden Park de Auckland, extremo norte de Nueva Zelanda.

Los Springboks con el dúo juvenil Aphelele Fassi, y Jaden Hendrikse,  fueron protagonistas del triunfo frente a los Pumas  en el Nelson Mandela Bay de Port Elizbeth, con  tries de Cobus Reinach, Aphelele Fassi y Jaden Hendrikse, más 5 pernales y 1 conversión de Elton Jantjies en contundente 32-12.

Con descanso a la mayoría del plantel que ganó hace una semana la serie ante los Lions Británicos e Irlandeses por 2-1,  los Springboks  continuaron con estilo de juego de patadas territoriales que puso a los Pumas bajo tremenda  presión con el balón alto.

En los Pumas donde se cometieron muchos penales en el primer tiempo con falta de handling y recursos defensivos, solo destacan el full back cordobés Santiago Carreras y el flanker santiagueño Facundo Isa, frente al debutante wing Jaden Hendrikse.

Hubo 17 puntos del apertura Elton Jantjies, producto de 5 penales y 1 conversión. Por el lado de los Pumas, el apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez, fue autor de los 12 puntos, producto de cuatro penales.

Ahora viene la segunda jornada del máximo torneo del hemisferio sur, con los Pumas haciendo de locales frente a los Springboks, en el mismo escenario del Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium el próximo sábado, donde los Wallabies serán anfitriones de los All Bkacks en el Optus Stadium de  Perth, en el lejano oeste australiano.

En los 40’ iniciales Peñarol estaba 17-0 con el apertura santiagueño Martín Roger, abriendo la cuenta con el 3-0 a los 3′. A los 15′, un exquisito robo de Conrado Roura fue try para el 10-0 con la conversión del goleador del torneo Martín Roger.

La ventaja aumentó con jugada individual del wing  Nicolás Freita, que con sombrerito le ganó metros y ante el contacto le dejó la pelota al medio scrum Tomás Inciarte. Roger puso el 17-0 parcial gracias a la transformación y luego comenzó la remontada trasandina.

Selknam entrenado por el santafecino Nicolás Bruzzone, despertó y con empuje logró dos tries con Matías Dittus y el segunda línea tucumano Santiago Portillo, pero no pudieron rematar las oportunidades que tuvieron sobre el final.

Western Force apunta al  tercer lugar de los play-off en Super Rugby Australiano tras ganar al último aliento a los Melbourne Rebels  por 16-15 (6-12) con el try del flanker suplente Tim Anstee, a la salida de un maul,  y que fue convertido por el apertura tucumano Domingo Miotti, goleador al sumar tres penales.

El flanker santiagueño Tomás Lezana fue proclamado Hombre del Partido en el AAMI Park de la capital del Estado de Victoria en el profundo sur de Oceanía. También jugaron en el ganador el medio scrum porteño Tomás Cubelli y el pilar derecho bonaerense Santiago Medrano.

El scrum fue el arma determinante para Force, y tras rechazar los ataques de los Rebels, en duro segundo tiempo dominado por los visitantes, y donde también  surgió la línea de tres cuartos  más hábil de los locales.

"Los partidos entre Rebels y Force están  siempre se juegan con mucha intensidad, y el de hoy  fue una locura. Nuestra defensa mostró espíritu del equipo y nos da confianza contra los Waratahs, la próxima semana", exclamó el centro y capitán de Force, Kyle Godwin".

Western Force jugó con un hombre menos por tarjeta amarilla al flanker Kane Koteka, pero Miotti redujo el pasivo  con dos penales y poner el 12-6 al descanso luego de que el apertura Wallaby Matt Toomua embocara tres penales. En el complemento Miotti sumó el tercer penal.

Los invictos Queensland Reds y ACT Brumbies, tienen los dos primeros lugares asegurados por lo que Rebels y Force compiten por el lugar restante.

With Lezana and Miotti, Western Force beat Rebels in Melbourne

Western Force aims for third place in the Australian Super Rugby play-offs after beating the Melbourne Rebels at the last breath 16-15 (6-12) with substitute flanker Tim Anstee's try, after a maul, and that was converted by the Tucumán’s fly half  Domingo Miotti, scorer by adding three penalties goals.

Santiago del Estero’s flanker Tomás Lezana was proclaimed Man of the Party at AAMI Park in the capital of the State of Victoria in the deep south of Oceania. Also playing in the winner were the Buenos Aires’s  scrum half Tomás Cubelli and the Buenos Aires’s tight head prop Santiago Medrano.
