Los Pumitas primeros en grupo C, enfrentarán a Irlanda, primero en el A, e Inglaterra primero en el B a los Baby Boks, mejores segundos, en semifinales de IX Copa Mundial M20 el lunes en el City Academy Stadium, de Manchester (13:30 hora argentina). La etapa clasificatoria terminó de forma emocionante con Inglaterra, Irlanda y Argentina clasificadas cabezas de serie en sus respectivos grupos, mientras que Sudáfrica fue el cuarto semifinalista por ser el mejor segundo. En la última fecha, los Pumitas ganaron a Japón 39-20, y los Baby Boks a Francia 40-31 en el grupo C. En el A, Irlanda dio cuenta de Georgia por 35-7 y Nueva Zelanda a Gales 18-17; y en el B Escocia le ganó a Italia 27-19 e Inglaterra a Australia 17-13.

Nueva Zelanda campeón saliente no competirá por primera vez en la fase semifinal por el título. Por lo que disputará semifinales por el quinto lugar ante Gales, y por el séptimo escalón lo hará Escocia frente a Australia. Por semifinales del noveno lugar Francia enfrentará a Japón y Georgia se medirá con Italia por evitar el descenso. Por segunda vez Los Pumitas disputarán semifinales como en Sudáfrica 2012. Más de 400 jugadores jugaron en la ronda clasificatoria y se promocionan desde 2008, con Nueva Zelanda campeón ese año, hasta el 2011, con Sudáfrica ganador en 2012, Inglaterra en 2013 y 2014 y Nueva Zelanda en 2015.

Pumitas first in Pool C, face Ireland, first in A and England first in B face Baby Boks, the second best in the semifinals of the IX World Cup U20 on Monday at the City Academy Stadium, Manchester (13:30 Argentina time). Finished the exciting qualifying stage way with England, Ireland and Argentina classified seedings in their respective pools, while South Africa was the fourth semifinalist for being the best second. By semifinals of the ninth France face Japan and Georgia will face Italy to avoid relegation. For the second time  Pumitas played semifinals like South Africa 2012. More than 400 players played in the qualifying round and promoted since 2008, with New Zealand champion that year until 2011, with South Africa winning in 2012, England in 2013 and 2014 and New Zealand in 2015.
