ARGENTINA BUSCA PRIMERA VICTORIA SOBRE NUEVA ZELANDA

Argentina se enfrenta a la historia y ante Nueva Zelanda en el estadio “Único” de La Plata, quiere escribir otra historia que ponga fin a 18 contrastes y 1 empate a partir de 1976. Una victoria será la primera ante Nueva Zelanda, y evitaría  que los campeones del mundo levanten el trofeo del Personal Rugby Championship en nuestro país, y a falta de una fecha para el pitazo final del primer 4 N.

Nueva Zelanda, que han ganado sus cuatro partidos hasta ahora, necesita una victoria más para estar seguro de conquistar el título antes de su último partido contra Sudáfrica en Soweto (suburbio de Johannesburgo) el próximo sábado  el 6 de octubre. Y contará otra vez con su goleador Dan Carter, disputando la escena a Juan Martín Hernández en la maniobra ofensiva.

"Nuestro objetivo es mejorar partido a partido. Los jugadores están llenos de confianza, estamos cada vez mejor y, como consecuencia de los resultados, seguirán madurando", dijo el entrenador nacional Santiago Phelan., quién puntualizó: "Para jugar este torneo hace falta esfuerzo y mucha presión. También se pone en evidencia la valentía, el compromiso, el corazón y la pasión del equipo”

Sobre el resultado del sábado Phelan resaltó: "El objetivo será  evitar la fuga de los minutos finales.", aludiendo a la derrota por estrecho margen ante  Australia en Gold Coast, y que no se debe repetir en la revancha con Nueva Zelanda en La Plata.

Los Pumas estuvieron 13 puntos por delante de los Wallabies antes de conceder tries en el último cuarto de hora perdiendo 23-19.  Los únicos cambios realizados están en el banco de suplentes con el pilar Juan Pablo Orlandi reemplazado por  Marcos Ayerza y en la tercera línea Tomás Vallejos sustituye a Leonardo Senatore.

Argentina aún no saborea la victoria en su primera temporada en el campeonato , después de haber perdido  tres partidos, y empatar el restante por 16-16 en Mendoza ante Sudáfrica.

Por el lado de los All Blacks hay satisfacción por el regreso del apertura y goleador Dan Carter sustituyendo a  Aaron Cruden después de estar lesionado en los dos últimos partidos por lesión en la pantorrilla. Por lo que Cruden se va al banco junto con el medio scrum Piri Weepu, que deja la estratégica plaza al incisivo  Aaron Smith de gran rendimiento contra Sudáfrica en Dunedin.

También hay otros dos cambios en el banco,  en la tercera línea Sam Cane Sam sustituye a  Victor Vito, mientras que Ben Smith fue preferido por el entrenador Steve Hansen a Tamati Ellison.

Por eso Steve Hansen precisó: "Tenemos un gran respeto por los Pumas, quienes han mostrado en el torneo lo buenos que son, y estamos esperando más de ellos este sábado,  ya que están jugando en casa delante de sus  apasionados seguidores".

ARGENTINA SEEKS FIRST VICTORY OVER NEW ZEALAND

Argentina faces and history against New Zealand at the stadium "Único" of La Plata City, wants to write another story that ends 18 contrasts and 1 draw since 1976. A win will be the first against New Zealand, and would prevent the world champions lift the trophy of Rugby Championship.

New Zealand, who have won their four games so far, need one more win to be sure of winning the title before their final game against South Africa in National Stadium of Soweto (Johannesburg suburb) on Saturday October 6. And will again with striker Dan Carter, playing the scene with another striker talent like Juan Martin Hernández in offensive driving.

"Our target is to improve each game. Players are full of confidence, we are getting better and, as a consequence of the results, continue to mature," said national coach Santiago Phelan., Who stated: "To play this tournament we needed effort and a lot of pressure. Also the courage, commitment, heart and passion".

On the outcome of Saturday Phelan remarked: "The aim is to avoid the leakage of the final minutes." Alluding to narrowly defeat against Australia at Gold Coast, and you should not repeat in the rematch with New Zealand in La Plata .

The Pumas were 13 points ahead of the Wallabies before granting tries in the last quarter of an hour losing 23-19. The only changes are on the bench with prop Juan Pablo Orlandi  is replaced by Marcos Ayerza and the flanker Tomas Vallejos replaces  Leonardo Senatore.

Argentina still savoring the first victory in this first Rugby Championship, having lost three games and tied the remaining by 16-16 against South Africa at “Malvinas Argentinas” Stadium of Mendoza.

On the another side the All Blacks's satisfaction at the return of the first-five-eight and scorer Dan Carter who replaces Aaron Cruden after being injured in the past two games with a calf injury. So, Cruden goes to the bench with scrum half Piri Weepu, who leav the place to incisive strategic Aaron Smith with great performance against South Africa at Dunedin.

There are also two changes on the bench, in the third line Sam Cane replaces Victor Vito, while Ben Smith was preferred by coach Steve Hansen to Tamati Ellison.

So Steve Hansen said: "We have great respect for the Pumas, who have shown in the tournament how good they are, and we are waiting more of them this Saturday, as they are playing at home in front of their passionate fans."

PUMAS VS ALL BLACKS, EL DESAFÍO INFINITO

El sábado en el estadio “Único” de La Plata, Pumas y All Blacks se enfrentarán por vigésima vez. La primera confrontación se remonta al 30 de octubre de 1976, en el antiguo estadio de Ferro Carril Oeste de Buenos Aires, donde Nueva Zelanda batió Argentina por 21-9 y una semana más tarde por 26-6.

Hoy son los tiempos de dos referentes de mil batallas en las filas de Nueva Zelanda como el octavo y capitán Richie Mc Caw y el hoocker Keven Mealamu y por el lado de Argentina, de otro combatiente, su pilar Rodrigo Roncero y de un apertura de la clase y jerarquía como la de Juan Martín Hernández.

Ellos hacen recordar otros protagonistas de los Pumas en 1985: Gustavo Milano y Eliseo Branca y en la apertura a Hugo Porta (3 penales y 1 drop), enfrentando los  All Blacks: Gary Whetton y Andy Haden y al apertura Wayne Smith. Hubo triunfo visitante de 33-20 ese 26 de octubre de 1985 en Ferro.

Lo de Hugo Porta fue excepcional ya que ese inolvidable segundo test del 2 de noviembre de 1985 encendió pasiones  con cuatro penales y tres drops. Hubiera sido triunfo argentino con el scrum en la tierra prometida y el octavo Ernesto Ure cometiendo knock-on al pretender zambullirse. Y hubo empate de 21-21-

Eran tiempos en que Los Pumas recibían All Blacks al final de una gira por las Islas Británicas, donde cayeron ante los Dragones Rojos de Gales por 20-19 el sábado 16 de octubre de 1976 en el “Arms Park” de Cardiff, por penal al cuello del centro Alejandro Travaglini al full back John Peter Rees Williams.

Entre el 8 y 15 de septiembre de 1979, los Pumas enfrentaron a los All Blacks en la recordada primera gira, dejando buena imagen en partidos provinciales y los tests de Dunedin y Wellington, donde cayeron por 18-9 y 15-6, respectivamente, pero con el agregado del viento y la lluvia en  Wellington, “the Wind City”.

Luego en 1987 en ocasión de la primera copa mundial organizada por Australia y Nueva Zelanda, los Pumas enfrentaron a los All Blacks en la primera ronda clasificatoria el 1 de junio en el Athletic Park de Wellington cayendo por 46-15.

En 1989, los All Blacks fueron anfitriones de los Pumas en la gira argentina de seis partidos provinciales con dos tests  disputados el primero el 15 de julio en el “Carisbrook” de Dunedin con triunfo local de 60-9 y el segundo el 29 de julio en el “Athletic Park” de Wellington, para el doblete de 49-12.

Después, entre el 6 y 13 de julio de 1991, en otro estadio de fútbol, el de Vélez Sarsfield en Buenos Aires, Los Pumas fueron vencido por los All Blacks por 28-14, y 36-6 respectivamente.

Entre el 21 y 28 de junio de 1997, los All Blacks recibieron a los Pumas en la doble confrontación del “Athletic Park” de Wellington y del “Rugby Park” de Hamilton (ambos en la isla Norte), con victorias contundentes que representan plusmarcas: la primera por 93-8 (la más alta de la historia) y por 62-10.

En el nuevo milenio, hubo en 2001 una doble confrontación en ambos países, comenzando el 23 de junio en el “Jade Stadium” de Christchurch, donde los All Blacks resolvieron con autoridad el desafío por 67-19. Mientras que el 1 de diciembre en el “Monumental” de Núñez, ganaron apenas por 24-20.

Cabe recordar que en la última jugada, una pelota que el bonaersense Felipe Contepomi despejó sin alcanzar el lateral fue bien aprovechada por el octavo Scott Robertson que se zambulló a la tierra prometida, convirtiendo Andrew Merthens, poniendo a Nueva Zelanda adelante por 24-20.

El 26 de junio de 2004, en el “Waikato Stadium” de Hamilton, los Pumas fueron batidos sin contemplaciones por los All Blacks (ya entrenados por Graham Henry) con el marcador de 41-7.

Otra vez en Argentina, el 24 de junio de 2006, los Pumas volvieron a recibir a los All Blacks en el “José Amalfitani” de Vélez Sársfield en Buenos Aires y en un encuentro muy equilibrado hubo victoria con dificultad para los visitantes del Pacífico Sur, por 25-19.

Ya en el mundial 2011, y en cuartos de final de la VII Copa del Mundo, el sábado 9 de octubre, los All Blacks superaron a los Pumas por 33-10 en el Eden Park de Auckland.

Finalmente, en el marco de la primera Personal Rugby Championship, el pasado sábado 8 de setiembre en el “Westpac Stadium” de Wellington, Nueva Zelanda se impuso a Argentina por 21-5 en la tercera fecha del 4 Naciones.

Por lo que se llevan disputados 19 partidos jugados, 18 victorias de Nueva Zelanda y sólo un empate pudieron rescatar los argentinos, que sumaron 225 puntos y recibieron 719 y que apoyaron 17 tries y sufrieron 89.

PUMAS VS ALL BLACKS INFINITE CHALLENGE

On Saturday at the “Único” Stadium of La Plata City, Pumas and All Blacks will meet for the twentieth time. The first confrontation dates back to October 30, 1976, in the old Ferro Carril Oeste Stadium in Buenos Aires, where New Zealand beat Argentina 21-9 and a week later by 26-6.

Was a time when Los Pumas received All Blacks at the end of a tour of the British Isles, where they lost to the Welsh Red Dragons 20-19 in injury time on Saturday October 16, 1976 at the Cardiff "Arms Park" by high tackle of center Alejandro Travaglini to full back John Peter Rees Williams.

Between 8 and 15 September 1979, the Pumas faced the All Blacks in the memorable first tour, leaving good image in provincial matches and tests of Dunedin and Wellington, where they fell to 18-9 and 15-6, respectively, but with the addition of wind and rain on Wellington, "the Wind City".

Then, in 1987 at the first World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the Pumas faced the All Blacks in the first qualifying round on June 1 at Athletic Park in Wellington falling 46-15.

In the new millennium, there was a double confrontation in 2001 in both countries, starting on June 23 at "Jade Stadium" of Christchurch, which the All Blacks authoritatively resolved the challenge by 67-19. While the December 1 at "Monumental" of Núñez, barely won 24-20.

PUMAS EN DESAFÍOS CON RENDIMIENTO FÍSICO Y CONCENTRACIÓN MENTAL

Las dos últimas fechas del Personal Rugby Championship que Los Pumas disputarán en Argentina, se presentan como el desafío por un mejor rendimiento físico y una mayor concentración mental, si se tienen en cuenta la performance expresada a lo largo de las cuatro primeras jornadas ante Springboks, All Blacks y Wallabies.

Nueva Zelanda dió un paso importante hacia el título máximo del hemisferio sur, al sumar 16 puntos por 8 de Australia, 7 de Sudáfrica y 3 de Argentina. En la cuarta jornada los All Blacks con autoridad superaron  a los Springboks 21-11, y los Pumas dejaron escapar una resonante victoria ante los Wallabies, que ganaron al final 23-19.

Por lo que los All Blacks de capitán Richie Mc Caw necesitan un punto en las próximas dos salidas intercontinentales del próximo sábado  29 en el “Único” de La Plata ante los Pumas y del sábado 6 de octubre en el FNB Stadium de Soweto (suburbio de Johannesburgo) frente a los Springboks.

Con 16 puntos en la clasificación y cuatro victorias en el haber, los neozelandeses con figuras claves como Israel Dagg y Dan Carter, que juntos son una combinación letal, sacaron a relucir su oficio ante las limitaciones en su juego desplegado; y los Springboks, no lograron expresar un juego ofensivo y hubo fracaso de sus goleadores.

En el frío polar del profundo sur de la isla sureña de Nueva Zelanda, los All Blacks anotaron dos ensayos con Israel Dagg y Aaron Smith (que entró en el segundo tiempo por Piri Weepu,  tras haber sido descartado como titular por indisciplina). Los Springboks se hicieron presente con una producción personal del wing  Bryan Habana al marcar un try de jerarquía.

Poco afortunados, los sudafricanos no ganan desde el 18 de agosto cuando en “Newlands” de Ciudad del Cabo batieron en jornada inaugural a los Pumas por 27-6, para  atrapar un empate en Mendoza de 16-16 y luego encajaron dos derrotas consecutivas en Perth ante los Wallabies por 26-19 y en Dunedin frente a los All Blacks.

Por lo que tanto Wallabies como Springboks siguen siendo matemáticamente escoltas en la carrera donde los All Blacks son los candidatos al título. Pero en caso de un contraste de los All Blacks en dos semanas en La Plata ante Los Pumas, un equipo permanecerá en juego tras el partido entre Springboks y Wallabies en el “Loftus Versfeld” de Pretoria.

Los Wallabies entrenados por el neocelandés Robbie Deans, tomaron provisoriamente el segundo lugar gracias a su éxito contra los Pumas en Gold Coast. Pero las apariencias engañan: Argentina llevó el marcador en ventaja durante más de 60 minutos y muy cerca de la primera señal de éxito en la historia de la competición.

Los tries de Tomás Leonardi y Julio Farías Cabello, mas los tres penales de Juan Martín Hernández pusieron contra las cuerdas a los Wallabies que reaccionaron a falta de 20 minutos para el pitazo final con dos ensayos de  Pat McCabe y Digby Ioane (la figura del partido). Berrick Barnes y Kurtley Beale pusieron la ventaja con sus patadas a los palos.

Argentina por su parte, entrenada por Santiago Phelan, busca concentración mental y mayor rendimiento físico en los dos últimos partidos en casa contra All Blacks en el estadio “Único” de La Plata y ante Wallabies en el “Gigante de Arroyito”, en Rosario, para completar en primera participación una performance que supera expectativas.

PUMAS ON CHALLENGES WITH MENTAL CONCENTRATION AND PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE.

The last two games for Pumas in Rugby Championship played in Argentina, are presented as the challenge for better physical performance and greater mental focus, taking into account the performance expressed over the four matches against Springboks All Blacks and Wallabies.

New Zealand took a major step towards to the title of the southern hemisphere, adding 16 points for8 to Australia, 7 for South Africa and 3 for Argentina. On the fourth day the All Blacks beat the Springboks 21-11, and Pumas blew a resounding win over Wallabies, who won in the end 23-19.

So,  the All Blacks captain Richie Mc Caw need a only one point in the next two intercontinental games on saturday 29 in the "Único" Stadium of  La Plata against Pumas and saturday 6 October at the FNB Stadium in Soweto (suburb of Johannesburg) against the Springboks.

With 16 points in the standings and have four wins, the New Zealanders are two key figures like Dan Carter and Israel Dagg, who together are a lethal combination. And the Springboks, no able to express an offensive game and there was failure of their kickers scorers.

In the freezing cold of the New Zeland southern island, the All Blacks scored two trials with Israel Dagg and Aaron Smith (which came in the second half by Piri Weepu, after being dismissed for indiscipline as a starter). The Springboks were present with wing Bryan Habana with a hierarchy try.

Springboks and Wallabies are still mathematically bodyguards in the race where All Blacks are candidates for the title. But if a contrast of the All Blacks in two weeks at La Plata against Los Pumas, a team will remain in play after the match between Springboks-Wallabies at "Loftus Versfeld" of Pretoria.

Wallabies-Pumas concitan la atención mundial

La cuarta fecha del Rugby Championship promete dos choques de alto contenido técnico como competitivo comenzando por el desafío entre Wallabies y Pumas en Gold Coast y terminando con el que asumirán All Blacks y Springboks en Dunedin.

Se trata de dos encuentros en el hemisferio sur, que concitan toda la atención  mundial ya que se trata del “Ecuador” del torneo que ya disputó y tres partidos con Nueva Zelanda líder por delante de Australia, Sudáfrica y Argentina.

En el “Skilled Park” de Gold Coast se palpita batalla entre Wallabies y Pumas, en las formaciones fijas,  particularmente en el scrum y en los puntos de ruptura del juego desplegado y que fue estudiado hasta en los mínimos detalles por los entrenadores.

Por  eso el apertura australiano (de origen neocelandés) Quade Cooper admitió  que” ha habido gran cantidad de investigación realizada en Argentina de cómo se mueven los Pumas en las formaciones fijas y espontáneas”.

"Hubo una gran cantidad de grabaciones fílmicas que fueron observadas con detenimiento durante la semana por parte de los chicos del plantel", dijo Cooper antes del choque.

"Son  imprevisibilidad y esa es la principal fortaleza que tienen los Pumas, además de su pack de forwards. Definitivamente son un equipo que no está tomando a la ligera en absoluto este partido que vienen a ganar", sentenció Cooper.

Pero Cooper no contará cn su socio de aventuras y estrega de Australia, el medio scrum Will Gebia que viene de ser operado ayer por rotura de ligamentos cruzados anteriores de su rodilla derechay que será sustituído por  Nick Phipps.

Wallabies, Pumas ranks first worldwide attention

The fourth day of clashes Rugby Championship promises two highly technical and competitive starting the challenge between Pumas and Wallabies in Gold Coast and ending with the All Blacks and Springboks in Dunedin.

WALLABIES-PUMAS,  PARA SEGUIR ATACANDO

Tras la tercera jornada del Personal Rugby Championship donde no fue nada fácil para los campeones del mundo, los All Blacks, superar a los Pumas, se presenta una cuarta fecha  con todos los condimentos de gran partido entre los Wallabies y con los Pumas atacando bajo el sol de las playas doradas en el noreste australiano.

Pero para proyectarnos en el cálido clima del otoño en el este de Oceanía, quedan para el análisis un desafío disputado bajo la dura inclemencia del tiempo de Wellington, antes  que sobre la lógica dificultad de resistir la presión de los neozelandeses.

Así se despejó el panorama entre lluvia y viento cuando la potencia de Rodrigo Roncero perforó la defensa local para apoyar el histórico primer try de los  Pumas en Wellington, en ésta primera edición del 4 Naciones.

En el Westpac Stadium  resurgieron como en el mundial del año pasado, las canciones de los seguidores argentinos, aupando a unos Pumas determinados, mientras los All Blacks redoblaron su confianza al joven apertura Aaron  Cruden.

Con Julio Farías Cabello con amarilla, la situación se volvió complicada en la retaguardia por lo que a los 66´ llegó el primer try Julien Savea para un 14-5  clarificador y a los 72´ Cory Jane puso el uno-dos para un 21-5 con los All Blacks ganan y siguen invictos. Pero los Pumas están lejos de ser los chivos expiatorios y responden atacando.

 Hoy toca pulsar la situación de la selección argentina que busca adecuarse a las 13 horas de huso horario  y recuperar energías ante una Australia que viene de pagar alto precio por su primera victoria  ante Sudáfrica por 26-19 en el extremo oeste del país-continente: en Perth, donde sufrió rotura de ligamentos cruzados en la rodilla derecha, el medio scrum y capitán de los Wallabies, el genial Will Genia, que deberá estar seis meses en dique seco.

Y hay una maldición para los capitanes de Australia, ya que Genia venía de reemplazar al tercera línea David Pocock que se lesionó en la rodilla izquierda, y que venía de sustituir al segunda línea James Horwill, el capitán mundialista operado en los tendones de la pantorrilla derecha.

Por lo que ante los Pumas debutará Nick Phipps, mientras que Brett Sheehan irá al banco de suplentes. El entrenador neocelandés Robbie Deans, busca darle confianza a Phipps.

Por el lado de los All Blacks, el entrenador Steve Hansen dejó afuera al apertura Dan Carter para el choque con los Springboks en el hielo de Dunedin. La recuperación de la contractura en la pantorrilla izquierda, parece ser más lenta de lo previsto. Por lo que seguirá el joven Aarón Cruden, apertura de los Chies de Waikato, campeón del Súper Rugby. Y como reserva estará listo Beauden Barrett.

 

AGAINST WALLABIES TO KEEP ATTACKING
