para los Pumitas M20 que en la jornada inaugural del XII Campeonato Mundial M20
de Rosario y Santa Fé perdieron ante Gales
30-25 (11-10) en el estadio del Hipódromo de Rosario por el Grupo A, donde
Francia, el campeón saliente, demolió a Fidji por 36-20, por lo que es el líder
con 5 puntos, por 4 de Gales, 1 de Argentina y 0 de los isleños del Pacífico
Sur. Ahora el sábado
los Pumitas enfrentarán en cancha de la Inmaculada Concepción en la Ciudad de Santa
Fe, a Fidji a las 13:00 hrs, en el
desafío para remontar y disputar con Francia el miércoles 12, la clasificación
a las semifinales. Mientras que Gales el sábado en el Hipódromo de Rosario desafiará
a Francia que suma 5 puntos por 4 de Gales, 1 de Argentina y 0 de Fidji.
Gales con
determinación, disciplina y destreza, le ganó a Los Pumitas M20 en la jornada
inaugural de la XII Copa Mundial Juvenil M20 frente a 5000 espectadores
apesadumbrados que presenciaron como Los Pumitas en estado de confusión,
sufrieron la derrota ante los Dragones
Rojos Júniors, que se redimieron del cuarto puesto en el Seis Naciones Sub-20. Los
Dragones Rojos juveniles se redimieron de derrotas frente a Escocia e Irlanda en
las Seis Naciones M20, demostrando agallas para atrapar la ventaja parcial de
11-10 al descanso y salir triunfante, para ir a desafiar a Francia en el Hipódromo
de Rosario. La clave
del partido fue el apertura de Gales, Cai Evans autor de 20 puntos: 1
conversión del try del wing Ryan Conbeer, y 6 penales, para castigar la indisciplina de Pumitas
que nunca aprendieron la lección, cometiendo
11 penales contra 5 de los británicos, más la amarilla al segunda línea bonaerense
Ramiro Tallone (55’); y que Evans embocó
con precisión milimétrica. En la
selección entrenada por el platense José Pellicena, destacó en forma
superlativa el medio scrum tucumano Gonzalo García, hasta que los calambres le dijeron
basta, el centro sanjuanino y capitán
Juan Pablo Castro y el full back platense Ignacio Mendy que en espectacular eslalon marcó un try que despabiló a los 5 mil
