La selección provincial argentina
frente a los Natal Sharks se aseguró el primer puesto en la Conferencia Sudafricana
y el derecho a jugar como local en los playoffs de cuartos de final. En la
última fecha del próximo viernes será el anfitrión de la franquicia japonesa Sunwolves,
para terminar segundos en la tabla general de las tres conferencias.
Los Jaguares apoyaron de entrada dos
tries con el wing porteño Sebastián Cancelliere y el full back rosarino Emiliano Boffelli, más una conversión del
apertura porteño Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, que falló una serie de tres intentos a
los palos, por lo que el primer tiempo terminó con un 12-0 que no reflejó las
posibilidades de la franquicia argentina que reaccionó en el segundo tiempo.
El complemento comenzó con Jaguares con
mayor dinámica y Díaz Bonilla se redimió marcando un penal para el 15-0 y luego
Boffelli capturó pelota de aire para apoyar espectacular try que con la conversión
de Díaz Bonilla el marcador se elevó al 22-0 para luego hacer doblete
Cancelliere con la maniobra previa de Boffelli.
Los Natal Sharks descontaron con try del centro André Esterhuizen
y la conversión del full back Curwin Bosch para el 29-7 y en el último llegó el
regalo de jerarquía del apertura tucumano Domingo Miotti que con precisa patada
lanzó al try al wing cordobés Santiago Carreras que apoyó su tercer try en lo
que van de dos partidos seguidos.
Con el triunfo sobre
los Natal Sharks, los Jaguares suman 46
puntos en la Conferencia Sudafricana y es seguido por los Pretoria Bulls, con 36,
Johannesburg Lions, 35, Cape Town Stormers, 34, y Sharks, 33. Sólo es superado
en la tabla general por dos equipos neozelandeses: los Canterbury
Crusaders, líder con 58 puntos, y los Wellington Hurricanes, con 49.
