Recordamos hoy a los Pampas XV
(los antecesores de Jaguares, franquicia en
Super Rugby 18) que se consagraron campeones en debut de la Pacific
Rugby Cup 2014, con plantel donde destacaron los cordobeses Rodrigo Bruno
(flanker del Jockey Club Villa María), Matías Alemanno (segunda línea de La Tablada)
y Tomás Ramírez (pilar del Jockey Club Córdoba).
En su gira por Australia los
Pampas XV terminaron el periplo ganando la final del torneo a los Queensland
Reds A de Brisbane por 36-21 el domingo 23 de marzo de 2014 en Sydney y alcanzó
el segundo título en su historia, tras la conquista de la Vodacom Cup
sudafricana en 2011, entrenada por el tucumano Daniel Hourcade y también de
forma invicta. Antes de ese desenlace la
escuadra entrenada por el rosarino Raúl Pérez con la coordinación de Daniel
Hourcade, dió muestra de madurez, ganando a los Gen Blue, segunda formación de
los Waratahs que contó con seis jugadores que una semana antes habían ingresado
desde el banco, ante los Reds en Super Rugby 15 de 2014.
También en su trayectoria de
aproximación a la final ganaron Los Pampas XV a los Western Force de Perth,
compartieron entrenamientos con los Waratahs de Sydney y frente a los Brumbies
de Canberra. Para imponerse en el certamen a los isleños del Pacífico Sur como
Samoa A (38-24) y Tonga A (47-20).

Cup debut in 2014
We remember on Tuesday, March
28, 2017, the Pampas XV (predecessors of Jaguares, franchise the Super Rugby 18), who became champion in the debut of the 2014 Pacific
Rugby Cup, with a squad composed by Cordovan Rodrigo Bruno (flanker of Jockey
Club Villa Maria), Matías Alemanno (second line of La Tablada ) and
Tomás Ramírez (tight head prop of the Jockey Club Córdoba).
In their tour of Australia the
Pampas XV finished the tour winning the final the tournament against Queensland Reds A of Brisbane by 36-21 on Sunday,
march 23 2014 at Sydney and reached the second title in its history, after the
conquest the South African Vodacom Cup in 2011, trained By the
Tucuman’s Daniel Hourcade and also of undefeated form.
Before that denouement the
squad trained by Raúl Pérez from Rosario, with coordination of Daniel Hourcade,
gave maturity sample, winning to Gen Blue, second formation of Waratahs that
counted on six players that a week before had entered from the bench, against Reds in Super
Rugby 15 of 2014. Also in their path of approach
to the final Pampas XV they won to Western Force of Perth, shared trainings with
Waratahs of Sydney and against Brumbies of Canberra. To
prevail in the contest to the islanders of the South Pacific like Samoa A
(38-24) and Tonga A (47-20).
