El intento de ganar todo no se cumplió para Inglaterra, de conquistar por segundo año seguido el Grand Slam, como tampoco la Triple Crown, como tampoco el record de 19 partidos invicto superando la marca de los All Blacks ganadores en 18 confrontaciones consecutivas. El verdugo se llama Irlanda que les cortó la carrera  al primado absoluto.

Irlanda, el mismo adversario que el pasado 5 de noviembre le produjo a los All Blacks el mismo frenazo en Chicago ganándoles en el Soldier Field por determinante 40-29. Ahora ante el campeón Inglaterra se impuso en el mítico Lansdowne Road de Dublín por 13-9, a la escuadra entrenada por el australiano/japonés Eddie Jones.

Después de 18 victorias consecutivas también se detuvo la racha de Inglaterra frente a una Irlanda entrenada por el neozelandés Joe Smidt, que interrumpió la carrera al máximo récord nacional como ya lo había conseguido hace cinco meses con los campeones del mundo de los All Blacks.

Así llegó la primera derrota de la gestión de Eddie Jones, y que provocó que Irlanda conquistara  el segundo lugar del Seis Naciones 2017 por mejor diferencia de puntos con Francia y Escocia. Ahora viene para la Inglaterra de Jones, la gira por Argentina en junio donde le espera el doble desafío con los Pumas en San Juan y en Santa Fe.

La segunda fecha del Nacional de Clubes A, tuvo como protagonista a Urú Curé que en Soles del Oeste hilvanó su histórica segunda victoria consecutiva sobre los platenses de San Luis finalistas del Top 14 porteño, por 34-19 tras dar vueltas un pasivo de 0-19, y domina el grupo 4 con 8 puntos por 5 de San Luis, 1 de Ateneo Inmaculada y 0 de Los Tarcos, a quienes recibirá el sábado en Ciudad de Río Cuarto. Tala RC en su incursión al conurbano bonaerense cayó ante porteños de Universitario de Buenos Aires 20-16 en el grupo 3, donde los porteños  de Newman ganaron como visitantes y también con lo justo a Universitario de Tucumán por 27-25, pero Tala sigue líder con 5 puntos por 4 de Universitario y Newman con partido menos jugado. En la Zona 1, los porteños de Regatas  ganaron como visitantes a Huirapuca en Tucumán por estrecho 35-32 y los porteños de Belgrano, superaron a los rosarinos de Old Resian por 30-0.Es  puntero Regatas con 8 puntos seguido de Belgrano con 6, Old Rsian 4 y Huirapuca 2. En  Zona 2, Duendes le ganó con lo justo a los porteños del San Isidro Club 37-35 en el conurbano bonaerense de Boulogne y Tucumán Rugby hizo lo propio con los campeones salientes, los porteños de Hindú Club por 29-24 en Yerba Buena.  Encabeza  Duendes con 8 puntos, seguido de Tucumán Rugby con 5 y San Isidro Club-Hindú con 1 punto. Resultados: Zona 1, Huirapuca 32-Regatas 35 y Belgrano 30-Old Resian 0. Mañana tras el pitazo final de la quinta y última fecha del Seis Naciones europeo 2017, se encenderán pasiones en Argentina por saber si los Pumas ascienden a la 8º  posición del ranking mundial que clasifica a los mejores ocho en las dos bandas principales al sorteo de la IX Copa del Mundo Japón 2019 el 10 de mayo en Kioto.

En la ciudad japonesa tendrá lugar el sorteo que armará el calendario del noveno mundial de rugby con las bandas ya determinadas de los equipos automáticamente clasificados en la escalera de acuerdo al ranking World Rugby. Por lo que el nerviosismo involucrará la suerte de Escocia, Francia, Gales e Irlanda, con fixture determinante en Escocia-Italia en Murrayfield, Francia-Gales en el Stade de France y el choque Irlanda-Inglaterra en el Lansdowne Road, donde se juega el Gran Slam y la Triple Corona del torneo. En las instancias previas, Inglaterra (2º ) es favorita por 5 puntos para ganar a Irlanda (4º ) en el Lansdowne Road de Dublín, Gales (5º ) es favorito para ganar a Francia (8º ) en el Stade France de París, pero por apenas 3 puntos y Escocia es favorita para ganar a Italia por 20 puntos en su feudo de Murrayfield en Edimburgo.

El ex apertura de los All Blacks Andrew Philip Mehrtens nacido el 28 de abril de 1973 en  Durban, Sudáfrica, tras el encuentro de ejecutivos de SANZAAR en Londres el fin de semana, que trató futuro formato del Super Rugby 18 que se está disputando y que fue ampliado el año pasado a 18, pidió torneo sin franquicias sudafricanas y argentinas.

Mientras tanto la prensa de Nueva Zelanda indicó que el certamen se reducirá de 18 a 15 equipos, con una franquicia australiana y dos sudafricanas menos. También está la versión de un Super 16 donde se descartan un equipo australiano y otro  sudafricano.

Los cambios, sin embargo, sólo pueden ser realizados con acuerdo unánime de todos los socios de la SANZAAR (Sudáfrica, Nueva Zelanda, Australia y Argentina), y el consejo de administración del ente del hemisferio austral anticipó que haría un próximo anuncio sobre el contencioso.

Pero Mehrtens, quien jugó 70 caps para los All Blacks entre 1995 y 2004, pidió cambios radicales en declaraciones a  Fox Deportes sobre el Super Rugby, sugiriendo que no hay ninguna necesidad de que Sudáfrica y Argentina sigan siendo parte del torneo, sentenciando: "Pienso que la competición es estúpida en este momento".

"No hay ninguna salida, no vamos a mirar un torneo por 10 años, que cubre tres husos horarios enormemente distintos, y la cosa mejor es de jugar solamente dentro de éste, nuestro huso horario. Es logísticamente más fácil para poder gestionar equipos y jugadores", disparó el ex medio scrum sudafricano/neozelandés.

’’Usted vuela de la noche a la mañana, un vuelo de 10 horas a Japón, y puede manejar la diferencia horaria que no es tanta", apuntó  Mehrtens pidiendo introducir naciones del Pacífico Sur como Fiyi, Samoa y Tonga a unirse al certamen de franquicias.

"En Asia, Australia, Nueva Zelanda y las Islas (del Pacífico) es donde está el futuro y cuanto más pronto hacemos los cambios, más rápidos nos desarrollamos mejor", remató Mehrtens, que jugó en  Calvisano (A2 Italia en 92/93), Crusaders en Super Rugby 2005, Harlequins (2006), Toulon (2007),  Racing 92 (2008), Bézier (2010).

El director ejecutivo de  SANZAAR Andy Marinos comentó la situación después de la reunión del fin de semana pasado mantenida en Londres. "Después de dos días de gran discusión hay un número de consideraciones del torneo que ahora requieren la máxima discusión y consulta’’.

’’Esto incluye la consulta final dentro de las uniones nacionales y la discusión con los tenedores de propuestas claves que permitirían adopción de cambios propuestos por el plan estratégico",  dijo Marinos, nacido en Harare, Zimbabue y que jugó para Gales en Rugby XV, Sudáfrica en Rugby XIII y los Sydney Bulldogs en Rugby League australiano.

"SANZAAR hará una declaración formal sobre el futuro de la organización, del Super Rugby y el formato del torneo en los días que vienen una vez que estas las reuniones han sido concluidas, " añadió Marinos.

"There is no way out, we are not going to watch a tournament for 10 years, which covers three enormously different time zones, and the best thing is to play only in this one, our time zone, it is logistically easier to manage teams and players "The former South African / New Zealander scrum half shot.

"You fly overnight, a 10-hour flight to Japan, and you can handle the time difference that is not so much," Mehrtens said, urging South Pacific nations like Fiji, Samoa and Tonga to join the Franchises.
"Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the (Pacific) Islands are where the future is and the sooner we make the changes, the faster we develop better," said Mehrtens, who played in Calvisano (A2 Italy in 92/93) , Crusaders in Super Rugby 2005, Harlequins (2006), Toulon (2007), Racing 92 (2008), Bézier (2010).
SANZAAR Executive Director Andy Marinos commented on the situation after last weekend's meeting held in London. "After two days of great discussion there are a number of tournament considerations that now require maximum discussion and consultation."
"This includes the final consultation within the national unions and the discussion with key stakeholders that would allow the adoption of changes proposed by the strategic plan," said Marinos, who was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and played for Wales in Rugby XV, South Africa in Rugby XIII and the Sydney Bulldogs in the Australian Rugby League.
"SANZAAR will make a formal statement about the future of the organization, the Super Rugby and the format of the tournament in the days to come once these meetings have been concluded," added Marinos.

El sábado 11 de marzo marcó un hito en el crecimiento federal de alta intensidad con competiciones de equipos nacionales del rugby argentino,  incluyendo la franquicia Los Jaguares que ganaron a los Lions de Johannesburgo 36-24 en la tercera fecha del Super Rugby 18 disputada en el estadio del Club Vélez Sársfield de Buenos Aires.

En éste intenso 2017 se apunta al mayor desarrollo de un auténtico rugby federal, con los torneos organizadas por la Unión Argentina de Rugby como los Nacionales de Clubes, A y B, los Torneos del Interior, A y B y el Argentino Juvenil M18, en  colaboración de las Uniones Provinciales y los Clubes participantes.
En total fueron 71.686 los kilómetros recorridos por los equipos que disputaron  la intensa jornada de Competencia Nacional. Un movimiento rugbístico argentino  que el fin de  semana pasado tuvo lugar en 13 de las 25 Uniones Provinciales, a través de sus Clubes adheridos y en 14 de las 23 Provincias y un Distrito Federal del País.
El porcentaje de 1.840 jugadores de todo el país que estuvieron representando a sus Clubes en las diferentes competencias, fue del 28 por ciento en los 40 partidos del programa, que requirieron 72 árbitros y asistentes designados y trasladados por la UAR para cada partido donde compitieron 80 equipos.
Respecto al Argentino Juvenil M18 se involucraron 16 de las 25 Uniones regionales, y en todos los certámenes, participaron  480 primeras líneas acreditados para disputar esa posición, cumpliendo con la capacitación establecida en el Programa “Rugby Seguro”.
Para Carlos Araujo, Presidente de la UAR, ’’Debemos .sumar al equipo de Los Pumas7s que jugaron el Seven de Vancouver por el Circuito Mundial de Seven, con destacada actuación y los chicos del M20, que están en Nueva Zelanda con  gira de preparación para el Mundial M20 que se va a llevar a cabo sn Georgia“.

On Saturday March 11 marked a milestone in high-intensity federal growth with competitions of national teams of Argentinian rugby, including the franchise Los Jaguares that won to Lions of Johannesburg 36-24 in the third round of Super Rugby 18 disputed at Stadium of Club Vélez Sársfield in Buenos Aires City.

In this intense 2017 is aimed at the greater development of a genuine federal rugby, with tournaments organized by Argentinian Rugby Union such as  Nationals Clubs Championship A and B, Tournaments of  Interior A and B, and Argentinian Youth U18 Championship ,  with  collaboration of Provincials Unions and participating clubs. 

In total there were 71,686 kilometers traveled by the teams that disputed the intense day of National Competition. An Argentinian rugby movement that last weekend took place in 13 of 25 Provincials Unions, through its Associated Clubs and in 14 of 23 Provinces and one Federal District of the Country. The percentage of 1,840 players from all over the country who represented their clubs in different competitions was 28 percent in 40 matches the program, which required 72 referees and assistants appointed and transferred by UAR for each match where they competed 80 teams. In relation to Argentinian Youth U18, 16 of  25 Regional Unions were involved, and in all the contests, 480 front row players were accredited to dispute that position, fulfilling the training established in "Safe Rugby" Program. For Carlos Araujo, President of  UAR, "We must summon the team of Los Pumas7s who played Vancouver’s Sevens for the World Sevens Circuit, with outstanding performance and the boys of the U20 selection, who are in New Zealand with preparation tour For U20 World Cup that will be held in Georgia".

Dans cet intense 2017 est destiné au développement d'un véritable rugby fédéral, avec des tournois organisés par l'Union Argentine de Rugby, tels que les Championnats de Clubs Nationaux A et B, Tournois de l'intérieur A et B, et le Championnat Argentin M18, avec la collaboration des fédérations provinciaux et clubs participants. Au total, il y avait 71 686 kilomètres parcourus par les équipes qui ont disputé la journée intense de compétition nationale. Un mouvement de rugby argentin qui a eu lieu le week-end dernier dans 13 des 25  Fédérations Provinciales, par l'intermédiaire de ses Clubs Associés et dans 14 des 23 Provinces et un District Fédéral du Pays. Le pourcentage de 1 840 joueurs de tout le pays qui représentaient leurs clubs dans différentes compétitions était de 28 pour cent dans 40 matchs du programme, ce qui a nécessité 72 arbitres et assistants nommés et transférés par l’UAR pour chaque match où ils ont participé à 80 équipes. En ce qui concerne le Championnat  Argentine M18, 16 des 25 fédérations régionales ont été impliquées, et dans tous les concours, 480 joueurs de première ligne ont été accrédités pour disputer cette position, en accomplissant la formation établie dans le programme "Sécurité en Rugby". Pour Carlos Araujo, Président de l'UAR, «Nous devons convaincre l'équipe de Los Pumas7s qui a joué  le Sevens de Vancouver pour le Circuit Mondial de Sevens, avec une performance exceptionnelle et les garçons de la sélection M20, qui sont en Nouvelle-Zélande avec préparation tour pour la Coupe du Monde M20 qui se tiendra en Géorgie".

Il Sabato 11 marzo ha segnato una pietra miliare nella crescita federale ad alta intensità con gare delle squadre nazionali del rugby argentino, tra cui  la  franchigia di Los Jaguares che ha vinto ai Lions di Johannesburg 36-24 nel terzo turno di Super Rugby 18 giocato allo stadio del Club Vélez Sarsfield della Città di Buenos Aires.
In questo intenso 2017 si mette in mostra  il maggiore sviluppo di un vero e proprio  rugby federale, con tornei organizzati dalla Federazione Argentina Rugby, come i Campionati Nazionali di clubs A e B,  i Tornei dell’Interno A e B, ed il Campionato  Argentino U18, con la collaborazione delle Federazioni Provinciali e club partecipanti.

In totale ci sono stati 71,686 chilometri percorsi dalle squadre che disputavano l'intensa giornata di Concorso Nazionale. Un movimento di rugby argentino che lo scorso fine settimana ha avuto luogo in 13 dei 25 Provinciali Unioni, attraverso i suoi club associati ed in 14 di 23 Province ed un Distretto Federale del Paese.
