Los Ceibos, la franquicia profesional argentina
comienza hoy la pretemporada que apunta a su debut en nla primera edición de la
Súper Liga Sudamericana de Rugby, con un plantel de 30 jugadores entrenados por
el porteño Ignacio Fernández Lobbe, el cordobés
Julio César García y el tucumano Diego Ternavasio.
Junto al flanker Conrado Roura (Palermo Bajo), se pone en
evidencia un cuarteto cordobés integrado por el segunda línea Franco Molina
(Jockey Club Córdoba), el wing Leopoldo Herrera (Córdoba Athletic), el centro
Agustín Segura (Jockey Club Córdoba) y el hooker Leonel Oviedo (Córdoba
Athletic). Es decir, la primera franquicia
profesional argentina, convocó a ex jugadores de
Argentina XV, Jaguares XV y Pumas 7s, que se integran a la pretemporada
que se inicia hoy lunes 13 de enero y con posterior debut el 28 de febrero como
visitante, ante el Corinthians en San
Pablo, en el primer torneo profesional
sudamericano. Con mayoría de jugadores porteños, y al que se
integran tucumanos, cordobeses, rosarinos, chaqueños y mendocinos, los Ceibos, protagonizarán
la naciente Súper Liga Sudamericana de Rugby, el primer certamen profesional de
América del Sur, junto a equipos de Brasil, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay, y en
2021, de Colombia. Hay
un cordobés en la franquicia uruguaya de Peñarol de Montevideo: el medio scrum de La Tablada, Alfredo
Pueyrredón y otro en los Selknam chilenos, el flanker villamareinse Rodrigo
Bruno. El torneo comenzará el 28 de febrero y terminará a fines de mayo de
2020, con 5 franquicias: Los Ceibos (Argentina), Corinthians (Brasil), Olimpia
(Paraguay), Peñarol (Uruguay), y los Selknam
(Chile) y a partir de 2021, con Los Cafeteros (Colombia). El campeonato tendrá 12 semanas de disputa, con formato de todos
contra todos en dos ruedas, con localías alternadas (10 fechas, con ocho
compromisos para cada uno); Ceibos será anfitrión en Córdoba. Los primeros
cuatro jugarán las semifinales y el quinto sostendrá dos partidos ante un sexto
conjunto, el de Colombia, que se sumará a partir de 2021.
