The Jaguares seeks to the playoff against the
Brumbies who are favorites
The Jaguares will compete against the Australians ACT
Brumbies of Canberra, who are favorites, in round 11 of the IV Super Rugby
2019, tomorrow Saturday at the Stadium of the Vélez Sársfield Club, at 6:40 pm
(07:40 am on Sunday in Australia), looking for the promotion to the playoffs in
a decisive match.
The Argentinian franchise comes with high morale, after its second tour of the South African Conference, winning against Bulls of Pretoria 22-20 and Natal Sharks by 51-17 at Durban, and sharing the 9th step in the general standing with 19 points (although they have a less contested match), together with the Stormers of Cape Town. In this confrontation the back from Córdoba Santiago Carreras (of Córdoba Athletic) will debut as the left wing, although his natural position is full back, which is where he excelled in the Pumas U20, and in the South African tour where he played in evidence for his very strong tackle when he made his debut as a substitute. While they will be substitutes from Córdoba, Enrique Pieretto Heiland (Córdoba Athletic) as tight head prop and Juan Cruz Mallía (Jockey Club Córdoba) as fly half.

While they will be substitutes from Córdoba, Enrique Pieretto Heiland (Córdoba Athletic) as tight head prop and Juan Cruz Mallía (Jockey Club Córdoba) as fly half.
They both played two weeks ago at Durban, where the Argentinian franchise
produced a superlative performance in historic 51-0 win over the Sharks with
7-2 in the tries.
The Brumbies, with a more played match, come to win in Newlands, Cape Town, the
Stormers by 19-17, with heroic defense, but leaving on the way two important
casualties like hooker Josh Mann-Rea, who is injured his right knee and flanker David Pocock
with a calf injury, both returning from South Africa to Canberra, capital of
Australia.
So the Brumbies (pseudonym of Wild Colts), must make a quality defensive effort
to stop the Jaguares who come from two weeks of rest and looking to win with
their tryman from Tucuman centre Matías Orlando, driving the fly haf from Tucuman
Domingo Miotti and the power of the number 8th from Santiago del Estero, Tomás
Lezana.
They played twice and on both occasions there were celebrations of the visiting
teams, because in 2017 the Brumbies won 39-15 at Vélez Sársfield Stadium of
Buenos Aires City, and last year, the Argentinian franchise won at the Gio
Stadium in Canberra 25-20.
The Jaguares, after the match with the Brumbies, will face the South African
Stormers on Saturday, May 4, at Vélez Sársfield, to go on a hard tour of Oceania,
facing Saturday May 11 at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, the Highlanders in
the deep south of the southern island in New Zealand.
Then the Jaguares will visit the Hurricanes at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on
Friday the 17th, and cross the Tasman Sea to face in Australia on Saturday May
25 the NSW Waratahs at Bankwest Stadium in Sydney and the Queensland Reds in
the deep northeast, in Brisbane (900 kilometers from Sydney), on Saturday, June
1.
