de Ciudad del Cabo, el poderoso equipo de Nueva Zelanda venció Argentina 38-14 en la final de oro del Seven
de Ciudad del Cabo. Allí los Pumas 7s
escribieron una de sus mejores páginas de su trayectoria.
Esa performance en la segunda etapa del Circuito
Mundial de seven 2017/2018, catapultó a los Pumas 7s al quinto lugar de la
clasificación con 24 puntos, por detrás solamente Nueva Zelanda 41, Sudáfrica
39, Fidji 28 e Inglaterra 27.
Y en los 6 encuentros (3 de la ronda
clasificatoria y 3 de la promoción al oro), fue protagonista el trío cordobés
formado por Conrado Roura (21 años, del Palermo Bajo), Lautaro Bazán Vélez (21
años del Córdoba Athletic) y Luciano González Rizzoni (20 años de La Tablada).
Ellos se pusieron al hombro a la escuadra entrenada
por el porteño Santiago Gómez Cora y el tucumano Leonardo Gravano, marcando
Roura 40 puntos producto de 8 tries, máximo tryman argentino y la figura sin lugar a dudas en éste final de año.
Lautaro Bazán Vélez totalizó 38 puntos, producto
de 2 tries y 14 conversiones y Luciano González Rizzoni totalizó 15 puntos con
tres ensayos de tremenda espectacularidad y en momentos de alta intensidad. Los
tres veteranos son la columna vertebral de Argentina 7s. Junto a ellos destacaron los porteños Rodrigo
Etchart con 32 puntos y Franco Sábato con 30 y el debutante mendocino
Maximiliano Filizzola, en sus primeros desafíos en el frenesí del juego
reducido.
Ésta realidad sudamericana prevaleció ante los
dos exponentes de Norteamérica: Estados
Unidos (eliminado en cuartos) y Canadá (en la cuneta en semifinales), Argentina
7s dejó su sello cordobés ante el público sudafricano que palpitaba otra final
más de sus Blitzboks.
